We just got sent the box art for the upcoming Metroid Prime Trilogy and, wow, it's really nice. Featuring a badass Samus-adorned metal case, the box art is about as cool and futuristic as the retooled Metroid Prime content located on its disc. In addition to the metal case, the Wii Trilogy will also include a "special Metroid Prime Trilogy artbook." Looks like Nintendo's managed to weasel out another $50 out of us, huh? We'd go on more about it, but then that would keep you from going into our gallery below and checking out the various shots for yourself.Reader Comments (59)

I'm really torn on this. I have Prime 1 on GC and Prime 3 on Wii. There are amazing games, but I I don't know if $50 is worth the "convenience."

1. Needs more Samus. How will I know if Samus is in the game if there isn't 50 images of her on it?
2. Just... take my money, Nintendo. Damn you.

Wow...I'm just shocked by Nintendo's dedication to make this feel like a great CE.
Haven't seen this much love for game since...um...ever.

I know its a CG render, but it looks like this has a clear plastic slip cover. Look at the left edge. Oh, minutia, I love you so.

Yay! Nintendo re-releasing more old games with Wii controls! Seriously?! No wonder they pulled out all the stops with the packaging. "See how the packaging shines and glitters, kids? No, no, pay no attention to the fact that you've already played these games."
Please Nintendo, put effort into something NEW. Until then, I'll keep allowing dust bunnies to procreate on top of the Wii.

Except there are people, like myself, who haven't played any of the Metroid Prime games. I didn't want to play MP3 without having played MP1 & 2, and nothing is going to get me to use a Gamecube controller again. These New Play setups allow me to play games like Metroid Prime and Pikmin that I never played on the GC, but would never go back and try with the GC controller.

I knew there was a good reason to never buy any of them until now...

No offense, but while Nintendo is trying to make sure that everyone who never played MP 1, 2 or 3 gets to play it with "new controls," there are many more who have already played these games and are looking for Nintendo to bring some new life to the Wii.
I would think any fan of the Wii would want Nintendo to do that.
All the momentum Nintendo had in the beginning with the Wii is getting stale before our very eyes.
