Some women apparently disagree with that statement. They keep saying "eww, eww, what the hell are you doing???"

They're all crazy.

Sadly I've never unlocked any of them. I like the 360 sometimes, but I've never really been into the Halo series like a lot of people. Whenever I do end up playing with friends though it seems as if all they want to do is play Halo 2.

If this is to really be believed, they look like pretty cookie cutter achievements. With the exception of finding the audio logs and getting over 200,000 points on the firefight levels, most of these can be unlocked just by beating the game.

I'm curious to see if there are any achievements on the MP disc, or if it will just unlock the normal Halo 3 achievements if you pull them off.

The Multiplayer disc has all the current Halo 3 Achievements, including the unattainable (without the original Halo 3 game) campaign achievements, and the ones for the three maps exclusive to ODST.

Straight from Bungie.net:

"The primary disc contains ODST's Campaign and Firefight modes. If you have friends who also have ODST, you'll be able to play these modes together.

The second disc is Halo 3’s traditional multiplayer. You can use this disc to play the multiplayer that you're experiencing via Halo 3 right now. Plus, we're throwing in three more maps, Heretic, Citadel, and Longshore. Players who have Halo 3 or ODST, can play Halo 3's traditional multiplayer together."

So the first disc is ODST's cooperative stuff, with 1000 Gamerscore, and the second is Halo 3 Multiplayer, with 3 new maps, and all the current Halo 3 multiplayer achievements, going back to the launch ones. I'm not sure, but I think this gives the two disc set close to 1750 Gamerscore.

Some of those are pretty funny. i loev how there's an acheivement for killing engineers and one for not killing engineers. i also should say that I'm so happy we finally get engineers in a halo game. Been waiting forever.

Whats so special about them?

I hear countless halo fans saying how good it to have engineers in the game.

What are they? I haven't played all of the halo games to understand wtf a engineer is.

they're a covenant race that are really just floating pink/purply gas balls with tentacles that repair things really fast and are too busy doing science they are never hostile to humans, one time in the book i think one even repaired chiefs gun or armor or something

@ Brian

Engineers are a Covenant "species" (they aren't really alive, but a Forerunner created AI) show up in the Halo novels, and until Halo Wars never showed up in the Halo games.

Engineers in a nutshell: Floating jellyfish-like gasbags that fix things really well.

They are a part of the Halo lore that we've never seen in the games (aside from a unit in Halo wars) but are referecned nearly constantly in the books. And Halo nerds hate that. If halo reach doens't involve the spartans who were on reach in the books, there will be hell to pay.

Remember how strange it seemed when they renamed this game from Recon to ODST? It occurred to me that perhaps they did this because Halo: Recon could be confused with Halo: Reach.

No.

from Halopedia:

On November 25th, 2008, Bungie LLC. renamed the in-development Halo 3: Recon to Halo 3: ODST.The reasons to why the upcoming expansion was renamed is due to the player playing the character of an ODST in the game, and to focus attention off of the fact that players will be able to receive MJOLNIR Mark VI Reconnaissance Armor.

They got that from bungie. :)

Well that's the official word, but I'm not so sure. Their explanation doesn't seem reason enough to me to change the name of the game after it has been announced. ODST is much more cumbersome.

Also, you people bitch too much.
