Take-Two: Agent is about espionage, set in the '70s

Agent will be "a game about espionage, set in the 1970s" and will be "very, very different" from Grand Theft Auto, according to Take-Two's CEO, Ben Feder, in an interview with Eurogamer. Yeah, it's not much, but at least it's more than a name. He goes on to discuss the success of GTA IV and Chinatown Wars, and gives his refreshing take on the role of censorship in the video game industry.
Feder also discussed exclusivity in the industry today, calling them "relationship and contractual matters," where much information is left undisclosed. With regards to the PS3 exclusivity of Agent, Feder says the company "won't disclose anything beyond what we've already said." Though he does go on to say that "it's important for us to be with Sony, and it's important for Sony, I think, to be with us." As for whether the GTA IV DLC packs will come to the PS3? "We don't talk about that, unfortunately."

So Agent is the 70's. While L.A. Noire is what, 40's or 50's??
Also as for this Being Exclusive to the PS3 I believe it will be. At the very LEAST it will be Timed for a year, like he said they want to remain in a good relationship with Sony, and after taking money to fund L.A. Noire and then letting it go Multi-platform they have got to do something to stay in Sony's good graces. Then to the GTA4 DLC, why not just say "Its a 360 exclusive" and leave it at that?? the way he said what he said further leaves me to believe we can see the DLC on the PS3 within the next 6-9 months.

The Agent is staying an exclusive. I believe Rockstar wants to take advantage of the PS3 to the best of their ability to produce a game bigger and better than GTAIV.

yea but his answer left plenty of room for speculation. I mean the DLC has NOT done NEARLY as well as it would have being on both platforms. Seems to me if it weren't coming to PS3 he would have said, "Thats not going to happen as We have a deal with Microsoft". What he is saying to me is, "We Can't speak on that right now else it will further gimp the sales of the DLC on 360 and also violate our agreement with MS"

Rockstar could, in theory, do a third for multiplatform.
Of course that would take money to make. Though with $50 million you could bankroll it 10 times over.

The lack of specifics worries me that this game is a very long ways off.
I'm hoping for a game that would be something in the vein of No One Lives Forever (at least in atmosphere, if not gameplay).

There's a rumor saying Lost and The Damn will come to PSN in August but thats just a rumor. Given what Ben Feder's answer was for the question about GTA4 DLC coming to PS3 makes me think that it will only cause its probably timed exclusive similar to Bethesda.

While we really don't know anything about this so far, Rockstar's track record leads me to believe this will be to spy movies what Red Dead Revolver was to westerns. I don't think it will be an MMO either, or it would have been called "AgentS."
But I will point out that RockStar very often produces a smaller, b-list game to use as a test bed for new technology that then gets folded into the next A-list megagame. Like how they used Table Tennis as a testbed for the RAGE engine.
It will be interesting to see what they are experimenting with in Agent.

Agent sounds pretty cool, sort of an "Avengers" type of deal. I mean Emma Peal and all that, not Captain America lol.
As to the exclusivity deal, does anyone else find it sad that MS threw that $50 million towards GTAIV DLC, and just recently we saw 1000's of MS employees being laid off?
Seems to me that money could've gone towards keeping people working in this tough economy rather than keeping some game DLC "exclusive."
