Same here... but I guess WiiWare made its appearance later than I remembered. Question is... how many GOOD WiiWare games are up there?

I'd say its been a fairly successful early run for WiiWare, given Nintendo's shocking lack of support, the limitations of the platform, and the tendencies of shovelware, the overall state of WiiWare has quite a few unique and worthwhile games, Gaijin's efforts not the least among them

Thanks to Wii Menu update 4.0, any and all limitations pertaining to WiiWare and VC have been made null.

J/k, Wii ware is great I just need to get more use out of it. I tend to get all of the retro games without giving the new ones a shot. Whats a good one to try?

World of Goo, LIT, the Strong Bad games, Bit Trip Core, Bomberman (if you don't have the XBLA version), and Mega Man 9 (if you again haven't already played it elsewhere).

Thanks John, me and my son had a ball with the Bomberman demo on the PSN. I think I might try that one.

" Bit Trip Core" I'm sure you mean Bit.Trip Beat. :P (Which I anti-reccommend)

Final Fantasy IV: The After Years is great if you liked the SNES Final Fantasy games. (It's episodic, though, and all of the episodes together will cost $37. It looks like it'll be just as big as any retail game, though.)

And World of Goo is one of the best games ever. :P

Wikipedia lists 95 currently-available WiiWare games for North America. Only two have release dates of June 29th (this coming Monday), "Bang Attack" and "Silver Star Reversi". Bit.trip Core would therefore be the 98th, unless there are two more unannounced games coming out with it on the 6th.

ONE OF THEM HAD DAMN WELL BETTER BE CAVE STORY.

Cave Story is supposedly coming out in "early summer" so that's pretty soon. Then again, they said it was almost done and would likely be out in April, so I don't really listen to Nicalis any more. :P

you know what, fuck cave story. nobody should have to wait this long for a rerelease of a game. I've been hearing about it coming to wiiware tons, and for as long as i remember, and I was always left wondering "When's it coming out?" Well enough is enough. I was excited to give my money to the developers for their wiiware effort, but not really anymore. maybe I will buy it someday (once upon a time)

very uncool

Bit.Trip:Beat is my favorite game of 2009 so far, but Core just looks too frustrating. The left to right format allowed you to develop a pace and flow to really go with the music and feel progress, but this just looks like random bits spiraling from every direction. I think I'll skip this one, but still keep an eye out for the next.

I am insanely jealous. I would love to have Beat.Trip Beat and Core. They would fit so perfectly in my library of retro games right next to Space Invaders Extreme, Geometry Wars, and Pac Man Championship. Alas, I do not plan on buying a Wii.

Correct. It is all about quantity. That is all.

Exactly, the Wiiware store wouldn't be filled a large barrage of low quality games or anything. I know I'm still playing Pop every weekend :end sarcasm:

It's not about the quantity, but with the App Store, and even Android's store, it's kinda embarrassing.
