Namco Networks gives BurgerTime the update it didn't need

It still mostly plays like Burgertime, which is the only reason Data East hasn't risen from its grave in the form of a zombie Karnov and destroyed the world with fireballs. You can try it yourself for free for one hour (Burgertime Deluxe, that is, not destroying the world as a zombie Karnov).
And now for a bit of BurgerTime trivia: Data East released two arcade sequels to BurgerTime, called Peter Pepper's Ice Cream Factory and Super BurgerTime.

We're long overdue for a Zombie Karnov game.

I loved Karnov as a kid. Data East's games really captured the 80s.

I remember enjoying this game as a child for at least 8 plays.

Some games should remain where they were best, in your memories.

Im sorry, that was the gayest thing I have ever written.

My mom used to play this on our intellivision all the time. That and Pac Man. God that Intellivision controller was ugly.

My strongest memory of Data East was hearing the awful pronunciation of it in "Joe & Mac" on SNES everytime I turned it on. Sounded like "Day-Ah-Ees" :p

Data East did the Robocop games. They even let Robocop himself destroy their arcade machines in Robocop 2!

Nintendo, please release the original on VC!! I think $20 for a cheesy PC download remake is a lot of money :(.

Why pay 20 bucks for this when you can play it on Nick.com (with a SpongeBob veneer!) for FREE?

In my mind Data East was one of the best video game companies of the 80's and 90's. I couldn't remember why though. I just checked the wikipedia and wow, some of their games were pretty cool back then: Burger Time, Bad Dudes, Karate Champion, Street Hoop, the 4 player arcade game of The Avengers, shadowrun, Joe and Mac, Robocop, Caveman Games, etc... Man, I just had lots of flashbacks of playing most of those at the arcades. Too sad they went bankrupt :(

I would have liked to see an update based on this artwork:

If you're over 30, and don't get that reference, something is definitely wrong with you.
