Stat tracking is nothing new for FPS games, but we have to hand it to Raven for being thorough. According to MTV Multiplayer, the upcoming Wolfenstein keeps track of not only how many Nazis you kill, but the manner in which they died. Multiplayer asserts that it saw a stat screen at 36 percent completion, which noted that 639 kills had been made. Using some simple math, the blog calculated that a total of 1638.4 Nazis will meet their doom by the end of the game.
Now, we hate to criticize, but that's assuming the rate of Nazi influx is constant, which it almost assuredly is not. Still, regardless of exactly how many have fallen by the end, we take comfort in the fact that we'll know exactly how many were dissolved, dismembered, burned and electrocuted. Strangely, the game doesn't appear to keep track of the number that have killed the old fashioned way: with a bullet.

It would be hard to kill them if they looked like this: http://farm4.static.flickr.com/3320/3661189687_af0259f22c_o.jpg
although, i'm also hoping there is 6,000,001 Nazi's to kill!

Ok, it may be REALLY nitpicky, but does that number include werewolf and maybe even undead Nazi's? If it doesn't, it's not accurate, and I can't accept it's legitimacy.

wow, only 1638? Most of my friends and me always assumed our nazi kill count was in the millions, let alone our total nazi/cop/alien/robot kills. But man, only 1700 in one game?

It does keep track of bullet kills too. It simply doesn't call them out specifically. Look at the screenshot on MTV. The "special kills" don't exactly add up to the total at the top. The remainder would be your bullet kills.

Just because Nazi's committed some of the most heinous war crimes in modern history doesn't mean they shouldn't mean mentioned at all......... As the adage goes, those who forget history are doomed to repeat it.

Maybe we shouldn't mention The British, The Americans, The French, The Mongols, The numerous Dynasties of China, The Rulers of Russia throughout the years and many others in Ancient and Modern History. How about we just forget names like Napoleon, Ghengis Khan, Nero, Henry the VIII, Julius Caesar. Any person who has been a purveyor of war-some more vicious than others-all have a place in history as being brutal. But we shalt not forget the names in history because that would be a mistake. I for one am hoping that Wolfenstein turns out to be a great game.

I don't think this game will do well. No one seems to care about it. Will be interesting to see how it fares at the marketplace though..
