Yes, the once-vague "fall" launch window for the pedometer-infused pokéremakes, Pokémon Heart Gold and Soul Silver, has evolved into a much more specific Japanese release date of September 12. The game will be catchable if you've got 4,980 yen ($50) to spare, which seems an exorbitant price, but is actually the standard cost of Pokémon titles in Japan, thanks to that completely unwarranted Adorability Tax.
North America hasn't gotten a release date or price for the remakes -- probably because Nintendo has yet to formally announce the games in the States -- but we'll let you know when it finally does. You'll know which post contains this announcement, because it'll be written in bold all-caps to reflect our uncontrollable excitement.

One of my friends and I speculate that Heart Gold and Soul Silver will release in May or June of 2010, going by the dates for Diamond, Pearl and Platinum's releases here.

That doesn't make sense. D/P/Pt all came out in the Spring, not the summer. A March/April/May release makes the most sense.

I'm even more optimistic, I think we'll see it mid-December for the Holiday rush.

I doubt it. They never made a "Thunder Yellow" Version for the GBA, so I doubt they'll make "Mind Crystal" Version.

I can't wait for these to be released here. I hope Nintendo will keep those cool symbols on the end and make the font look like the japanese title because the font they have been using since Ruby and Sapphire is getting old.

I doubt it, Fire Red and Leaf Green had similar symbols in their Japanese logo and they weren't kept in the English release. :(

Hah @ Gun Barrier's "Thunder Yellow" & "Mind Crystal" (my hierachal setup has soul above mind and heart, but I'd still be on-board for a Crystal remake).
I must ask: Why does Joystiq still pretend these will have two-word subtitles? "FireRed" and "LeafGreen" have shown us they'll stick 'em together like Arceus did Girafarig.
