You've seen the PSP Go on video. You've seen it compared to its older cousin in good, old-fashioned shaky-cam glory, but how about some nice, clean side-by-side comparison shots? Game Watch has you covered with some nice photos that show each device from different angles. Regrettably, you still won't be able to see each device from behind, but that's not really the important side anyway [Gold Five disagrees! - Ed].
Head over to Game Watch for more shots.

The screen is noticeably smaller on the Go. I would rather have the 3000.

It is? It doesn't seem to me like that much of a difference.

The screen on the PSP-3000 is 4.3 inches while on the PSP Go it is 3.8 inches. A half inch difference.
May not seem like much, but once you play a game on it you will probably be able to tell the difference.

pspgo would fit in my pocket MUCH better. Even though the screen size is slightly smaller, because the sides of the screen are much cleaner, and don't look cluttered like the psp3000, it's more aesthetically pleasing. It's like when you watch videos in hulu.com, and you click the "dim the lights" button, which darkens everything in the page except the video.
Seeing them side by side makes the psp3000 look sloppy and lopsided.

For that reason alone I would rather have my trusty old 2000 model.

If screen size is the deciding factor in choosing hand-held consoles, that kind of defeats the purpose. PSP-3000 and PSP-GO both have tiny screens. If you look at them both side by side with the intent of seeing which has the bigger screen, obviously PSP-3000 is bigger, but I guarantee when you hold those screens at 2 feet from your face to play games in it, the experience is EXACTLY the same.

They'll announce that next March when they reveal their revamped PSN.

yeah, sony jacked up the price too much. it should have been $200 tops. even though they're losing money with each PS3 sold, that doesn't mean they should just randomly jack up the prices by a ton on new products. they would still be making a nice profit (presumably anyways) if it was $200, and that would be better in the eyes of consumers. sony's marketing department needs some work for sure.

Yeah that is the part that kills it. Had it been Less than psp 3000 would have probably sold very well...but not at this price. And to "rells009" that will be way too late if tehy drop price in march 2010 by then Nintendo will have Dropped the DSi to the teh Currenent DS lite price. So it would likley be $200 PSPgo vs $130 DSi....not the best position to be in.

Yeah $200 wouldnt have been a bad price, i mean i cant wait to be outputting the video from my go onto my TV, but i cant be asked to save for this, i DO think sony is gonna drop the price though, many many MANY game sites are publishing stuff about the price of the Go, i think the price will drop V.soon.

Sony doesn't have the hipster following that Apple has.
Apple sells an image, Sony does not.
You not going to be the coolest kid on the block for having the newest Sony Ericsson phone, or psp.
It doesn't mean it's a bad product, it's just means Sony has a different following than Apple.

The Sega game gears even worse than the gameboy, although the graphics looked nice and the screen was backlit.

it seems significantly smaller to me. remember that it's going in your pockets. if even an inch gets taken off width-wise, that's MAJOR. that looks like around 2 inches to me.
right now, the only thing going for the go is the internal memory. since you can use M2 memory sticks with it, you can have 32GB total. that's pretty significant for a PSP.

it's a short-range wireless communication method utilized by specific objects for quick connectivity with only one setup process ever having to take place. It's basically the same as wireless networking only it is for other forms of communication between devices.
Wait, why don't you google it.

Think wireless USB ...
... and yeah ... shrink it down so its all super portable then carry around a giant bulky 6axis controller .... I guess you could just use the 6axis at home but doesn't that sorta kill the portable aspect of the portable system ?
I would think bluetooth headsets for music and skype but you really can't guarantee you will have a wireless connection for skype..... so meh your stuck using that at home too unless you have mapped out all the open WIFI hotspots from here to wherever your going.

Yeah, it kind of does. I would love to have that kind of compatibility though. I rarely play my handheld systems because when I'm at home I like to sit back and relax and play something on the big screen. I dont' want to sit in an awkard position holding a PSP 10 inches from my face. The only times I get to play are when I'm traveling or when I'm in a long line for something...I would play more, and buy more games if I could play on the big screen.

yeah it might kill the portability but imagine having the go connected to your TV using the video out and using a 6axis as the controller it almost makes it a home console especially for playing PS1 games while at home if you don't have a PS3.

Wouldn't it be a better selling point to make the downloadable PSP games compatible with the PS3, that way you could play them on your PS3 with the six axis and migrate your save files to your PSP to take your game on the go ?
Arguably the PSP having only a 333mhz processor it probably cuts corners with its rendering so the PS3 with its cell processor could probably make the PSP game graphics all the sweeter, not PS3 quality but worlds beyond the PSP.
I mean I would think that would be a selling point, plus your opening up buying downloadable PSP games not only to people with the PSP but your PS3 players as well... and if they don't own a PSP they might be that much more willing to go out and buy one.... since they are also dealing with downloadable games they are also that much more apt to just get a PSP Go ?
any how just a thought -hint hint sony devs- not that I own a PS3

That is one good thing I will give the PSP Go, it is much more pocketable than the regular PSP, that was a bit annoying to stuff into your pockets.
It'd be really cool when you are at home or elsewhere to use the Bluetooth feature to hook up a Sixaxis/DualShock 3 controller, hook your PSP up to a TV and play some games. I'm sure it will be done at least by hackers.

those start/select buttons on the go are really annoying me. they could have put a 2nd analog stick there and put the start and select buttons above the nubs like they do on the controllers. and yes, i know that could alienate owners of OLDER psp's, but sony could just ask developers to have 2 different control schemes, one of single analog, and one for double. if the developers are considering making a psp game, then sony asking them to add in another control scheme shouldn't be asking much, am i right? a lot of games already include multiple control schemes anyways.
