Uncharted: Drake's Fortune movie underway at Columbia Pictures

The first game was damn near a movie anyways, so it's going to be pretty hard to screw this one up. If ANY game was ever made specifically so that it could be made into a movie one day, Uncharted would be it. It's like they made Uncharted with the thought of a game-to-movie transition sitting in the back of their mind the entire time. Seriously, the first time I played through Uncharted I thought it was based off of a movie.

if done right and they pull off. ESPECIALLY if they market the hell out of Uncharted 2 this fall......hell the Game Comes out October 6...(According to Amazon)...

They can make it EASILY Bigger than Tomb Raider...

The 360 version would probably have slightly better graphics too.

fillion's whole persona is a perfect fit---he was great in firefly/serenity and i hope tp god he is given the choice for this.

ALSO a big +1 for not having FOX fruck it up.

Not the most flattering head shots in the world, but if you've seen How I Met Your Mother, you know who I'm talking about.

Uncharted (the game) was such a movie-like experience in the first place that making a movie out it it actually kind of makes sense and is not so far fetched.

Given the fact that hollywood seems to have run out of ideas, I would actually be interested in seeing this movie, it would probably suck less then the average crap these days.

why not just have the guy who does Drakes voice, Nolan North, play him in the movie... they look enough alike. at least they would sound the same too. just a thought.

THIS WOULD RULE! Uncharted was a great game, could be a great movie. Fillion would be perfect, but he himself seems "cursed"... is that Castle show even still on TV?

Sorry folks, but Joe Flanigan from Startgate Atlantis looks more like Nathan Drake. plus his character, Sheppard, has a very simular attitude to drake.

Dude - just get the voice actors to play as the film actors.

ALL of the voice actors looks almost exactly like their game counter-parts. Not to mention, almost all of them do their motion capture too so - hello?!

Doing Uncharted without Nathan Drake's voice and personality, regardless of who plays him - will lead this movie into total shit. No Nolan North = No Nathan Drake = No Uncharted.

The plot should be altered to some extent. There is no way anyone could afford a private army of that size. Either it needs to be a government or a small band of mercenaries. Also, the relationships between Scully, Drake and Elena need to be flushed out along with a deeper back story - instead of Drake just telling Elena about his past, they should do a flashback to keep the action going.

I'd be all for Nathan Fillion as Nathan Drake. I'm sure Nolan North would make a great Drake as well, but Fillion would be perfect. And there's a real connection between Uncharted and Firefly... Greg Edmonson wrote the music for both!

Just get the voice actors to do the movie, they pretty much already do. Not only do they do the voices, but most of them do the mo-cap too so...there ya go.

At least we know the game won't suck and its already done for them :)

I'm all for this. We need a new adventure hero. Indiana Jones has run it's course and nothing has ever come close since (Indiana couldn't even compete with himself and they are apparently making another one). There were attempts with movies like the Mummy, but that fell flat and no one even remembers the main characters name. Nate Drake could be the new adventure hero for the new generation. Catchy theme song, smart dialogue, fun action, likeable hero to root for...

I'd love to see Nathan Fillion get the part, but I'll be kind of surprised if he does. So far he by himself doesn't draw enough of an audience in, and that's always a major factor for studios. Still, hope he gets it - Drake did immediately remind me of Fillion a bit in appearance and certainly personality-wise. Hopefully he's being considered, and the director also wants him.

The only way the movie would retain any of the charm of the game would be if the script was written by the same people who wrote the script for the games. I believe Amy Hennig is responsible for the clever dialogue in Uncharted 1 along with other team members. If any of you are familiar with her work she helped pen the stories and scripts for the Legacy of Kain series before she defected over to Naughty Dog years ago.

Hitman was a fun movie. Not the best written movie but it was fun. Now we have a writer who's still really untested and has penned a script for a sequel to a mediocre movie/game franchise. I'm skeptical that he will have as much conviction or love of the original source material as the developers themselves. As with all other game to movie adaptations I see Uncharted as another fantastic game franchise being tarnished by a silver screen version made to cash in on its popularity. With the track record that games turned to movies have i don't have high hopes. Uncharted has all the elements to make an awesome movie but you have to have the right people behind it to get the job done right.

Now if they were to move forward they'd have to find a young actor to play Nathan Drake. While I absolutely LOVE Nathan Fillion he's much too old to play the part. I can kind of see him in the role but if Nathan Drake is supposed to be in his mid to late 20's early 30's they'd need someone much younger. Guess we'll have to wait and see what they do with it! For now I'm more excited about the games! Bring on Uncharted 2!!!!

If Nathan Fillion plays Drake, I will see this no matter what.

Nathon Fillion would be awesome! Anyone see him in Slither? That shit was crazy! Bust as someone stated before, it'd never happen.

Wow. In all the time I've spent thinking of who would be a good choice to play Nathan Drake, I never thought of Nathan Fillion. He looks like him a bit, his voice isnt all that different from Nolan North(voice actor for Drake), and from his previous work we can see that he'd be able to mimic Nathan's personality pretty well(his character in Firefly was very similar personality-wise to Nathan IMO. So, if not Nolan North(who I dont know how good he'd do on screen), I'd vote for Nathan Fillion.

I wouldn't be surprised if Drake's character was actually someone based on some (well, one in particular) of Nathan Fillion's roles, so it would certainly be the perfect choice.

When I first played the game, I thought Nathan Fillion was doing the voice. Malcom Reynolds and Nathan Drake have similar dry humor.

For the record, since Firefly, Nathan Fillion is awesome.

If they do this right, I will certainly go see this. This may become popular, similar to the Indiana Jones series, if done well.

This is great news. There are so many in depth video games these days, I think the movie adaptations of the likes of Uncharted, Metal Gear Solid, God of War, Bioshock, Dead Space etc. can't help but succeed.
People complain about the Mario film and the likes - what the hell did you exspect from Mario? Seriously? If they made the movie a side scroller with a man jumping over turtles and jumping through tubes would you lot be happy?
Wake up folks, It's a new generation of gaming. Games have long, intricate plots rather than being 2 hour long platformers with almost no storyline.
Look at Silent Hill for example. Aye, a few people will complain a few wee things changed here and there but that movie was great.

OH pleeeeeeeeeeeeease just make them Nolan North and Emily Rose!! They already have the voices and looks! They will be so PERFECT!!
