OK, if you have an Xbox 360 and live in a participating country, it's time to check out the
1 vs. 100 beta. Remember, Xbox Live silver members are good to check out the game now
for a limited time. The live shows are definitely solid times for trivia buffs, but the real fun is watching the mob lose way more members than it should through ridiculous or easy questions. Some of the best moments so far: the 50 people knocked out who didn't know that Bell invented the telephone and the infamous question about Jessica Simpson's hair extension brand. Check out the live game tonight and tomorrow, if you can. Oh yeah, one more thing,
don't take the money!!! There is none!
- Alexander Sliwinski (@XanderSliwinski): Moving forward with Broken Steel. Still have a lot of the Wasteland I never explored.
- Andrew Yoon: I'm playing the same game as James this weekend. Oh, and Cuboid.
- Ben Gilbert (@BigBossBgilbert): Street Fighter IV arrived from GameFly and promptly took over my apartment, so there's that. Still attempting to complete Fallout 3 sometime in 2009 and, with any luck, I'll jump into Mass Effect as well -- er, at least that's what I keep telling myself.
- Christopher Grant (@ChrisGrant): RE5 co-op, if I can manage to carve out some time. Silent Hill: Origins on PSP if, for some inexplicable reason, I find myself out of the house. And I'm winding my way through the excellent "See the Future" DLC pack for Fable 2.
- David Hinkle (@DaveHinkle): Now that I've pretty much done as much Ghostbusting as I could possibly do, I'm looking to give Point Lookout a download. Also, me and a friend have gotten back into Burnout Paradise, so I'll probably play a bit of that, too.
- Dustin Burg (@SuperDunner): Two words: Teh Haloz.
- Griffin McElroy (@griffinmcelroy): While not performing ceremonial wedding rites for my cousin (grats, Megan and Phil!), I'll be playing more of FF7. I'm nearing the end of the first disc, and I've probably put 80 hours into level grinding specifically for Aeris. She's level 99 now, and really become an unstoppable powerhouse. Can't wait to ride her coattails all the way to the end of the game.
- James Ransom-Wiley: I'll be playing Find a New Apartment!
- Jem Alexander (@Yembles): Rock Band Unplugged has me completely addicted, despite the DLC problems. When I'm not playing that -- ie, when my PSP is charging -- I'll be playing my other current addiction, Zuma. Who knows, I might actual start a new game this weekend, too. That's if I can ignore the nagging voice in my head telling me to go back and seek out those last five blast shards in inFamous. Where ARE they?!
- JC Fletcher (@jcfletcher): I'm getting my Professor Layt-on this weekend.
- Justin McElroy (@JustinMcElroy): ...
- Kevin Kelly (@gadgetguy): Looks like I'm jumping into Overlord: Raising Hell and Overlord II for an experiment, and still trying to conquest the world in Magic: The Gathering on XBLA.
- Ludwig Kietzmann (@LudwigK): I'll attempt to finish up inFamous this weekend (please, no more bus escorts) and possibly delve into Red Faction: Guerrilla afterward. Then again, I might just opt for something old-fashioned and linear and get Klonoa on my Wii. Eh? What's so funny?
- Majed Athab: Hitting up Shadow of the Colossus and then Super Mario Galaxy.
- Randy Nelson (@DangerPenguin): It's "Catch up with Fallout 3 DLC" weekend. It was going to be "Ketchup with Fallout 3 DLC" weekend, until I realized (thankfully before it was too late) how messy that would be.
- Richard Mitchell (@SenseiRAM): Wrapped up Prototype and am now finally delving into Bionic Commando (on Commando difficulty). Digging it so far. If I can find enough time, maybe some more Sam & Max Save the World. Also, um, Griffin, about Aeris ... never mind.
- Xav de Matos (@Xav): It's going to be a weekend love affair with The Conduit and Battlefield 1943.
- Justin Glow (@justinglow): (Actually knows the name of Jessica Simpson's hair extension brand.)

I bought NBA Live 09 for 20 bones at Target, so that.
I also decided to prestige in CoD4 after being a level 55 on the 2nd prestige for 7 months.
Sly @ Jun 26th 2009 9:17PM
after that long, is it even worth it? i would rather stay at 55. but then again, the 2nd prestige symbol sucks, so maybe it is worth it...

Personally I'll be playing through FFVI, and if I beat that I'll start up VII. Been playing through the whole series this summer to get warmed up for dissidia. Luckily VI and VII and IX are my favorites in the series. Gonna be a fun few weeks.
tmacairjordan87 @ Jun 26th 2009 7:56PM
Probably playing Oblivion, Fallout DLC, Burnout Paradise and GT prologue to help get through these boring summer days gaming wise.
Rented COD world at war and beat it later that night, thanks short campaigns. Anyway, the campaign was a lot better than I thought it would be for a Treyarch game. I played a little multiplayer even though I don't really enjoy doing that, but it didnt hook me like 4's did. I'll probably play a little more before returning it.
Manly Mcbeefington (Mr. ESC) @ Jun 26th 2009 9:39PM
Play it on Veteran,is a lot of fun as long as you know how to dodge grenades.
I'm playing that as well,I thought is even better than COD4 for all the extra modes but I still like more COD4 intel cheats than World at War Skulls or should I say wild cards.
Try the Zombie mode,is also fun.
So far I have played less than 4 hours and I'm already level 22, you can level up quite fast and is easier to get into Call of duty than any other online game I have ever played, even Bad Company and TF2 took me a day or two before I was good.
Sly @ Jun 26th 2009 10:06PM
yeah, COD:WAW multiplayer is ridiculously easy. the easiest mode is war BTW. i was 40-0 one game, but i only had 38 before overtime, so my highest killstreak says 38. :/
and yeah, do what ESC said. try it on veteran and try zombies. on veteran, you will get your ass handed to you every 10 seconds. its that hard. and you get a trophy for every level completed on veteran, so that's a plus too. and zombies... don't get me started on that. very fun. the matchmaking is painfully slow though.
BunnySlapper @ Jun 26th 2009 8:04PM
The 1 vs. 100 beta is actually a lot of fun, I definately recommend it for anyone that still hasn't tried it out. I played it with my wife and between the two of us did pretty well - very cool to think if it was a REAL game and not the beta that we'd have won some Marketplace points AND the sponsored XBLA game (both standard prizes for surviving the mob).
Stupid fun fact:
1. Button mash the Y button to perform the 'selected' emote for your avatar (the camera focuses on you and 3 others at several different points).
2. To change the emote, hit Right on the DPAD to cycle to the next emote while you're hitting Y. You can clap, jump up and down, and make other absurd gestures.
tmacairjordan87 @ Jun 26th 2009 8:15PM
Oh speaking of FF7, I finally beat it yesterday for the first time in 12 years :D
I could never get that goddamn gold chocobo, but I finally did. Knights of the Round is way overpowered ;)
tmacairjordan87 @ Jun 26th 2009 8:24PM
I have no idea how that ended up here...

Obi-Habby @ Jun 26th 2009 8:10PM
I am patiently waiting for someone to call out Griffin on his post.
Obi-Habby @ Jun 26th 2009 8:24PM
Might as well add my games too. Got 2 alts on World of Warcraft that need a Flame Keeper achievement. After that I am sure to play lots of Tiger 10 on the Wii.
Is anyone enjoying the Disc Golf bonus game as much as me?
NukeAssault @ Jun 26th 2009 8:14PM
Lets see, some Art Style: BOXLIFE on MY DSi, Fate/Unlimited Codes on my PSP and COD4 on my 360. And next week or so ill have BlazBlue. =D
PSN: Erdie (Now equipped with Wii!) @ Jun 26th 2009 8:17PM
Still playing Crimson Gem Saga, still liking it.
Sly @ Jun 26th 2009 8:19PM
just got a new iphone, so i'll be playing peggle, zombieville USA (excellent game BTW), mafia wars, and fieldrunners. and i might do some CoD:WaW on ps3 and maybe some CoD4 too.
Sly @ Jun 26th 2009 8:26PM
ugh, i knew i forgot one iphone game. my 3rd favorite out of the ones i have: amateur surgeon!
Vcize @ Jun 26th 2009 9:56PM
You should save one of the few good iPhone games for when you're on the go. No sense wasting it at home when you have a PS3 or 360 sitting there.
Sly @ Jun 26th 2009 10:08PM
i know, but they're painfully addicting. peggle and zombieville especially.
eNrique @ Jun 26th 2009 8:20PM
I'll be getting drunk, as always.
And maybe some coop for Red Alert 3 on PlayStation 3.
Girugamuk (Moptimus Slimed) @ Jun 26th 2009 8:22PM
Going back and listening to old episodes of Good Grief has gotten me interested in trying out some free games (play Today I Die, trust me). Other than that, Punch-Out!!, Tiger Woods, and finally beating 150cc in Mario Kart
Girugamuk (Moptimus Slimed) @ Jun 26th 2009 8:23PM
oh, and one of my friends got Halo Wars, so I might team up with him and take over the universe
Sly @ Jun 26th 2009 8:29PM

should have guessed it would be a meme reference. i still prefer philosoraptor.

1 vs 100 obviously isn't enough to justify me getting a 360 on its own (my wallet also doesn't justify it), but you've made me pine for a new console with that post.
I am playing WoW mostly, starting to get myself some nice epics at 80 and get into the groove of heroic dungeons. Offline, I just installed GUN and played through the first hour or so, strikes me as a pretty good game. I finished Mirror's Edge last night, though the past tense isn't what you're supposed to talk about on here.
Disco Ball @ Jun 26th 2009 8:25PM
Getting the full 1250/1250 cheevos in Banjo Kazooie, finishing up Episode 3 for Doom on XBLA and then who knows?!
Manly Mcbeefington (Mr. ESC) @ Jun 26th 2009 9:42PM
Hey wanna play Nuts and Bolts online?
I never get tired of that game I got a 100% in that game.
Also could I suggest wolfenstein? I was playing that on Dead Incarnate but I hated how they changed the pac man ghosts for fake hitlers >:/
Rein @ Jun 26th 2009 8:27PM
Tonight, I have the misfortune of being dragged to Transformers. Saturday will be spent playing "Why-the-fuck-did-you-sign-up-for-summer-classes?" and maybe a bit more of Splinter Cell. Sunday, I'll be melting in the sun while attending the Chicago Pride parade...
I wish I had a super power that allowed me to play multiple video games at the same time. My backlog is just too big for me... ;__;
Obi-Habby @ Jun 26th 2009 8:40PM
Thats always a blast. Looks like the north side and boystown are all yours with the Cubs down at The Cell whomping on that sorry team called the White Sox.

That's right! Finally, let the truth be buried in comments!
Also, tonights highlights include Chris Cashman telling everyone to, "finger their children," and 32 on the Mob thinking that Benjamin Franklin invented lightning.
Courtney @ Jun 27th 2009 3:10AM
That finger the children comment was priceless. Half the time I can't hear him, but I was glad the streaming audio actually worked when he dropped that line.

Tiger Woods Golf, RE5, End War, L4D, and probably starting up Fallout 3 sans DLC again.

R. Kasahara @ Jun 26th 2009 9:06PM

I finally got a hold of a copy of Riviera for GBA this week, so I'll probably pop that in between some Fire Emblem while I'm at work. I started Okami this week, so I'll probably continue with it while I'm at home.
Levi @ Jun 26th 2009 8:55PM
We're playing Fester's Quest right now.
Trine demo, Dark Messiah ($5 on Steam), Prey, Mega Man X8, Shadow of the Colossus.
Manly Mcbeefington (Mr. ESC) @ Jun 26th 2009 9:32PM
Do you have an old Nintendo Power guide or something? That maze can take quite a while.
Mr Khan @ Jun 26th 2009 8:59PM
The Conduit. It's really a mixed bag as far as graphics go. Some character models look brilliant, some look horrid, same goes for locations. When i was wondering around the white house rose garden trying to dodge something that sounded a lot like a Screaming Mimi, i took a look at the Rose bushes and thought i had stepped back in time to 1999, but then i got over to the Pentagon, and all was forgiven in those big, open, immaculate areas.
The gameplay is fun as hell, if a bit frustrating in the sense that when you die, you're not often sure why. I think only one of my multiple deaths so far was something i could have seen coming.
The AI is excellent for long-range fighting. Very adept at finding cover, and at surrounding me (positive that a few of my deaths were unidentified snipers of some sort), but in short range, they just panic and track you, occasionally firing, while you wander in close enough to Melee.
I've been tweaking the controls constantly, and am getting much closer to my idealized experience. The only problem is that HVS did the same thing Sonic Team did with Secret Rings and Black Knight, where the player character has less ability at the beginning of the game than he does later on (as you move on, more damage is deflected by default, and you get better jumping power)
Sly @ Jun 26th 2009 9:23PM
"The gameplay is fun as hell, if a bit frustrating in the sense that when you die, you're not often sure why."
you pretty much described COD4/COD:WaW on veteran. if you leave cover, you'll die instantly. if you don't leave cover... you die instantly. if you bum rush the enemies, you have a 2% chance of clearing them and getting to the next checkpoint. sounds fun, am i right?
Sly @ Jun 26th 2009 9:26PM
*if you don't leave cover... you die after about 15 seconds
my mistake.
Levi (God Hand Defense Force) @ Jun 26th 2009 9:02PM
Griffin's post reminds me of when I played GTA: San Andreas. Instead of playing through the missions, I spent hours trying to turn rival gang territory into Grove Street turf. Once I turned every area green, I continued with the game to find that the game's story takes everything away when it forces you to San Fierro. I think I quit playing the game shortly after that.
R. Kasahara @ Jun 26th 2009 9:04PM
@Griffin McElroy: I salute you, sir. That is some hardcore shit, especially for that character. Do you have all of her limit breaks, too?
I'm really into Shin Megami Tensei: Digital Devil Saga right now. I've also been playing Final Fantasy Fables: Chocobo's Dungeon on the Wii.
