XBL Silver members: Play 1 vs 100 this weekend!

Microsoft let us know that this weekend – from Friday June 26 (that's today!) to Sunday June 28 – Silver members "can enjoy the 1 vs 100 premium entertainment experience reserved exclusively for Gold members" for a limited time only. We're going to assume that most of you on Xbox Live are Gold members so consider this an opportunity to get some gaming in with those Silver members taking up space in your friend's list. Not a Gold member? Give 1 vs 100 a shot and see if it's an effective gateway drug.

I seriously cannot play a single game of 1v100 without getting booted off. Once I played for a whole 20 minutes! This is way too soon. Guess I might as well not even bother this weekend...sure, it's free, but it's a big waste of time til they get the kinks out of the net connections.

I've played it 4 times and there has never been an issue. The longest I played was almost an hour.

Only the first time they did it is when I had problems, but they eve adressed it in-game. They only had place for about 50k people and more then 100k tried to log on. Other then that, I've never had connection issues.
I just have a problem with the same people winning every time, not connectivity issues.

i played the first usa beta through all the way with my cousin but i think the coolness factor slowly wore off once we both realized that out of the 50,000 players online, our odds of getting to be the one or in the mob was VERY low. the questions were fun to answer and i appreciate microsoft offering this for free but i just thought it would be funner i guess. i don't really know how they could make it better though....

I've been in the mob twice. You can get in by getting a lot right answers, answering quickly (accuracy be damned) or playing all of the extended plays.

I'm still ridiculously confused about this. I was in the mob, won, received an update that told me I won some MS points and an Arcade game and that they would be delivered to my e-mail address in 4-6 weeks, and then 30 minutes later the host told the entire audience that there were no prizes in the Beta. What the hell? If that were true, why would they program the Beta to tell me that I won a prize? I'm not a programmer, so I don't know what goes into that sorta stuff, but it does seems a bit misleading, yes?

Betas are for bug testing, so it would be natural to see the product as finalized as possible. This just leads to the fact that in the actual release, there will be prizes given out.

You're right. PS3 does have decent free online gameplay.
This is the part where you say "thank you" to Microsoft and Xbox owners everywhere, for offering Sony such a strong competition in the online area that they were forced to make that move. If MS hadnt ever launched XBL, youd probably be paying MONTHLY fees for a vastly inferior online service compared to what you are using now.

well that's what i'm saying. i played through the whole BETA. and that was on june 1st. 3 weeks later we are still in the beta. how long does it take? i just feel like me and a lot of my other friends have already lost interest. don't get me wrong, i'm sure i will try again when the real prizes but i have talked to some of my friends who didn't even realize that in the beta, they weren't even giving out prizes, and they had lost interest anyway.

I've been having a blast playing this..
However, last night, I clicked to play Primetime and it took me to another extended play... I heard that there wasn't even a Primetime event last night, so I'm just a little confused.
I was doing doing pretty well the other night, but then got kicked out once w/ a service error... logged back in and just got sports questions... ending a pretty decent streak.
Other than that, it truly is pretty fun... I know a lot of useless shit... as long as you've seen Goodfellas at least a couple of times, you'll do fine ;)

The beta won't be over until December 31st, when the first "real" episode airs. The fact they brought it into beta so early is a great thing - part of MS's new "put it out there early as beta" strategy that will help the products quality immensely. Similar to how they are doing with the RC build of Win 7. :)

Is there a schedule online so you can see when the 1vs100 sessions are being held? I know that you can set a reminder on your XBox but I'd like to see an advanced schedule and set a personal reminder.
