Capcom puts Marvel vs Capcom 2 release near 'the end of July'

Further clarifying reports from nearly two months ago surrounding the release of Marvel vs Capcom 2 on XBLA/PSN, Capcom's Twitter account is putting the game's digital release "closer to the end of July." Oddly enough, the statement claims to not know where the "rumor" came from, though Marvel Entertainment's Q1 2009 financial report (sourced below) was clearly the culprit.

In the month or so you have before the game releases, you should probably head over to Shoryuken's MvC2 forums to find out how badly you're going to get stomped online. And yes, you will get stomped. We all will.

Doesn't the Days of Arcade start on the 29th? That would mean it's coming out then in that case, given it would be the last Wednesday of the month.

This seriously sucks for me i was waiting for this game and was pretty hopeful it was being released late this month. Had my MS points card ready. F***k it guess im going to get some new themes.

Yeah I was thinking about getting BlazBlue too... even if its only 10 characters it seems pretty kickass! :D I guess I'll play that till' late July then thanks for the advice Deadpool!

BlazBlue has 12 characters, actually. I'm picking it up on the 30th. :p

Yeah, BlazBlue is a must buy for any fan of fighters. Far better than KOFXII in my opinion, though I'll likely end up grabbing it as well.

Yeah, I'm tempted to try out Fight Night but I'm really trying to hold off on getting another game until Blazblue comes out next week.

Summer of Arcade starts July 22nd with TMNT. So yeah, the only possible date for this is July 29th.

So true. People think they're good at MvC until they play someone who's GOOD at MvC.

i was excited about this game coming out until i heard it's $15. (1200 MSP) i'd rather take out the dreamcast than pay $15 for it. c'mon capcom, make it $10 (800 MSP) like it should be!

Good, because between BlazBlue, KOFXII, Garou XBLA, and MvC2, my wallet would be screaming.

Wasn't it announced at E3 that MvC2 was a part of the Summer of Arcade, so it wouldn't be out until July 22 at the earliest? Why would anybody think it'll be out any sooner?
