Readers pick best webcomic: Consumer Advocacy
Though most of you base your video game purchasing decisions on replay value, storytelling elements or a title's raw, unmitigated fun factor, we realize there's a small sect of gamers who make said decisions based on the game's capacity for physical violence towards flying machines. A very small sect. Like, one person -- Penny Arcade's Gabe. His obsession was revealed in the recent strip "Consumer Advocacy," the winner of last week's Weekly Webcomic Wrapup.
Second and third place went to Virtual Shackles' "A Dose of Fake Reality" and 2P Start's "The Power of Teamwork," respectively. If you've got a favorite comic from this past week you'd like to see in the polls, now's the time to submit it -- just drop a link in the comments, or send in a tip!

Speaking of the P-'cade, that Cardboard Tube Samurai in Tekken 6 looks pretty badass.
jynxycat @ Jun 27th 2009 2:12PM
The helicopter thing is fun, but it's infinitely more entertaining to drive a tank along a crowded sidewalk, and killing like 200 people in 30 seconds.
WINterfang @ Jun 27th 2009 2:14PM
Can you Elbow drop a tank in inFAMOUS or Red Faction: Guerrilla? the answer is NO! you do NOT!.
oldgamer @ Jun 27th 2009 2:18PM
I don't really care for the helicopter one (just not my thing, I guess), but the other 2 are really good. I really like the third one about playing co-op games. My son and I love playing Mario Brothers together. Not to try and achieve a high score, but to see how many times we can get each other killed. In fact, some of our favorite games are games where instead of working together, we can find a way of trying to damage the other person.
I really hope the new Super Mario game gives you the chance to ness with your fellow players.

This one was my favorite this week. A bit absurd but totally feasible too:

That comic was fantastic. Love the "console that has been on fire for six months." Thanks for the head's up.

This comic helped me make up my mind about buying Prototype.
I am so glad I did.

Well, Dipswitch had four comics this week!
Monday - Brutal Legend's Vocal Talents are talked about
http://dipswitchcomics.com/105
Wednesday - Vic Laments The Requirements for Dragon Age
http://dipswitchcomics.com/106
Friday 1 - Magic: The Gathering on XBLA is talked about
http://dipswitchcomics.com/107
Friday 2 - The MK lawsuit has some annoying facets.
http://dipswitchcomics.com/108
Felt strong enough to do two for Friday, because that MK lawsuit seems like total BS.
Evan @ Jun 27th 2009 3:20PM
I really liked the Brutal Legend one.
Shmil @ Jun 27th 2009 3:35PM
4 times the fail! I kid i kid, i really liked the Rocky Horror Joke
Evan @ Jun 27th 2009 3:14PM
I think I might get Prototype as a birthday present next week. It looks pretty fun. I really liked the Hulk game for Gamecube and I think its from the same people.
These are my entries for the week.

Prototype is a lot of fun. I just wish they didn't have the stupid foot race mini-objectives (NOT mandatory). But it's a real fun game just obliterating everything around you.
Ghen @ Jun 27th 2009 3:50PM
its easy enough to get gold after a few tries in the foot races, but don't even bother with platinum unless you're -that guy-
Leroy_Octopus @ Jun 27th 2009 3:37PM
I liked Wednesday's Penny Arcade. It's not game related, but the Morgan Freeman picture makes me laugh.

Christ on a popsicle stick! I wish we could edit. Here's the real one hopefully.

If that's not right find it on your own. The other link I posted works though.

God this comment system's fucked. I replied the forth time, because the third time didn't show up on my browser. Sorry for spamming.

Prototype is really underrated imo. I have both Infamous and Prototype and find Prototype a better game, both are good but I find Infamous overrated personally.
aristokrat @ Jun 27th 2009 3:46PM
Yatzhee's review of Prototype actually made me want to play it, since it sounds rather fun.
Mr Khan @ Jun 27th 2009 4:42PM
I still found that one too forward.

I think 151 is a better choice personally.
alienmastermind @ Jun 27th 2009 8:54PM
Well, I like the second one myself. But you'd get a BitF backlash. It seems like Nintendo is their bailywick...but I always get a hoot out of Birdo. :)
Both are good.

Um, so like, my comic isn't videogame related DIRECTLY, but um, it's got Transformers and the new movie has a game, and I thought I'd share it with you:

Being able to karate kick a helicopter is not quite enough.
Proof? Last Action Hero on the SNES. Try and disagree with me here, I dare you.
