It's a sad fact that at the end of every console war, a remainder of die-hard zealots from each camp stay behind, waving high their console's battle standard while refusing to endorse any and all future pieces of hardware. Such a camp surely exists for the Sega Dreamcast, and while time may have forgotten these stubborn warriors, the kind folks at developer HUCAST have not -- they recently released a 2D horizontal shoot-em-up titled Dux exclusively on the extinct piece of Sega hardware.
Dux is currently selling for the bizarre price of $27.90. Fortunately, it won't be the last game to come out on the system -- HUCAST is nearing completion on another Dreamcast-exclusive shmup titled Last Hope: Pink Bullets, which was presumably co-developed by The Shins.

I heard a while back that the Brothers Chap were trying to make a Homestar Runner game on the Atari 2600. Don't know if it was true though.

I'd love to make one on my Commodore VIC-20. I bought it @ a garage sale for $5 about a year or so ago...it has all kinds of manuals & programming tutorials. Maybe one day when I find the time I'll do it. It even teaches you what to program for certain sound effects.

It's really nice to see the Dreamcast live on like this. It was a great system. I just wish it lasted longer than it did.
On 9/9/09, I'm going to celebrate the Dreamcast's 10th birthday by having a Dreamcast gaming marathon!
It's still thinking!
P.S. I miss Sega. :(

I meant I miss them as a console manufacturer. They used to make great quality consoles and games (besides the horrible CD and 32X addons for the Genesis). Ever since they transitioned to a third party game developer, their quality has decreased significantly. I honestly can't think of one truly great Sega game since the end of the Dreamcast. Yes, there are some good ones, but a very large portion of their games in the past few years have been of poor quality.

Ha, I thought Marvel VS Capcom: Clash of Super Heroes already thought Bernie Stolar that 2D STILL SELLS.
Anyway, I'm wondering if SEGA licensed this game.

I played this at AnimeBoston earlier this year. I had no idea what it was then. It was a pretty confusing game, but the graphics were very nice.

I can't understand why they're pricing it so high. If you try to buy it from the dev directly it's $43USD, which is a LOT for a 2d shooter on a dead system. Especially since the Dreamcast has no copy protection at all, and most dreamcast owners already have CD binders full of copied games. Few people are gonna pay that much for something they're used to getting for free. I'm sure they would have gotten a lot more sales if they priced it lower, but $40 is $20 too much, imo.

I don't wanna sound like a dreamcast fanboy here but.... Ah screw it, I am one, always will be.
This just shows how people still love their dreamcast. ya PS2 stole the spotlight for many. But for the rest, the dreamcast is that hidden gem people will never live down. Hell, it is still making games after a new gen lol. I can only think of two systems that still do that.
