Epic Games Korea opens to work closely with local devs
Epic Games has opened a new subsidiary in Seoul, Korea, with plans to provide licensing services and support resources to development teams using its Unreal Engine. Epic Games Korea will be led by Ray Park, formerly the business and strategy development manager for Microsoft's in-game advertising company, Massive, Inc.
While Epic Games has provided its Unreal Engine to teams in the territory for over five years, Park states the opening of a Korean subsidiary signifies Epic's "desire to collaborate more closely with the [local] game development community." Jay Wilbur, Epic Games' vice president of business development, noted Epic Games Korea would serve as "a hub for Unreal Engine access, knowledge and support in the Korean marketplace."
Rumors of developer Silicon Knights moving to Korea in search of the support it claims to have never received from Epic Games could not be confirmed ... because we made it up for the sake of a bad joke.

So... I'm not entirely sure what this will do for the gaming world in America (sorry Xbox 360 Fans. I love Gears of War) but also for me and my beloved PlayStation 3. Granted I will never see Gears of War on the PlayStation 3 sinse its a trademark of Microsoft (but will be playing Tecmos 'Quantum') but seeing as how the PlayStation 3 is outselling the Xbox 360 in Japan and this Epic Games in Korea will most likely be caitering more to the Japanese, will we be seeing that game in an NTSC format. I want more Epic Games, but I want them on a system I'm comfortable with. Unreal Tournament 3's about it. Everything else is Cliffy "B" and he seems to like the Xbox 360 most even though he's appearently played a lot of Metal Gear Solid in his day, Please don't tell me he thinks the PlayStation 3 is too hard to develop for too. He seems like he's up for a good challange any day if he's paintballin all the time. Anyway, I wanna see some more games on a system I play majority of the time. Cliffy "B" loves the Xbox 360, but I've found something I like better and am sure many would LOVE to see him challenge the PlayStation 3 and conquer it by developing for it and suceeding in awe to himself and squashing L4D's Valve developer. Something like that....
