Because it won't need it.
They will have some solution for playing in large groups. Either an offline mode like steam or a way to transfer data between on a local network or via p2p. You'll just need to have an internet connection to connect to battle.net

Because Bobby "Fucking" Kotick wants to sell ads on Battle.net and keep tabs on how many users go online under his Sauron-like gaze.

Wow this game looks amazing. I'm just curious about how difficult it will be it seems like theres a metric ton of managing to do.

I thought Blizzard would opt for unlimited resources but it seems like they've upped the ante even from Starcraft and gone for risk-for-reward type resources.

The higher the risk the greater the rewards. It's going to make for some interesting tactics but I wonder how long its going to take to really learn how to manage your troops effectively.

Seems like there are a billion options just thinking about the ways you could pursue a battle is mind boggling.

Maybe I'm just too used to one dimension RTS games with unlimited resources that don't require you to plan every step so you get to the resources before your opponent wipes them out and whether you risk going for the more important resources.

I suspect I'm going to get my ass kicked a few times trying to work it out lol.
