Every time I am reminded that Starcraft 2 is going to be released as a trilogy, God kills a kitten.

Great article, thank you.

I wish you would have asked him about the games hardware needs though.

One of the reasons the original game is still played is because of it's low system requirements, is the new one going to be as approachable for people who don't have amazing computers?

Oh, we've asked over and over. Right now, we get the standard, "No comment as of yet" answer, although we did find out that your PC will need to support Pixel Shader 2.0 at least.

Hmm, that's unfortunate that they haven't been more open about it.

Thanks for the reply Kevin!

Did you seriously just split the interview into multiple pages? You're better than this Joystiq.

This is fairly common practice on the site when we have a really long post that needs to be broken up ...

Well, when we did this interview last week, we didn't know about no LAN support. Seriously, I'm still extremely surprised that they've reportedly dropped it.

What? Starcraft HAD an tutorial dammit. How can you not know your own game Mr.Sigaty?!

"But what we're very hyper-conscious of is, the world has changed, you know? RTS is kind of a more hardcore genre in general, it's very overwhelming to a new player, where, "Wait, so okay. I just move guys, is that what I do?" Well, no actually, you also have to construct a base. "Oh, what? And I have to gather resources, and I have to spend them and I have to get supplies?" And it can be really overwhelming."

WAIT WAIT WAIT WHAT?!?!?!?

RTS can be really overwhelming? REALLY? Are you perhaps making this game for "intellectually-challenged" people? Or pre-school toddlers? How can anyone in their right mind say that an RTS can be "really overwhelming"? Sure, being the best of Battle.Net is a challenge but actually playing the game... Incredible decline of game developers :sigh:
