Haven't we been over this before?

I believe previous posts were followed by threats of physical beatings if readers failed to buy a copy of the game....

Day one buy. Put it on DS and I will buy it there too. Is there an audience? FUKK YES there is! Most gamers my age would love to play this again. Maniac Mansion next please!

I'd buy it on DS, too!

And yes, SCUMMVM DS does exist, but an optimized version would kick ass.

Yes, ScummVM does exist, but it's a bit sketchy on the DS. It works well on the PPC platform (windows mobile phones ftw!) but having something DESIGNED... oh me oh my.

Wil buy on day 1 if it comes to the PSN! Every gamer should buy this game as it is probably 1 of the best games ever made... :)

I'm not buying it on XBLA though. I want it on PC where I have all the others as well as the original. I still very much want MI2 re-done though!

I'll definitely be purchasing this sometime in the first week of release.

I never played the Monkey Island games, but I have fond memories of Maniac Mansion and some other LucasArts PC classics.

If nobody buys this game so I can get me an updated Day of the Tentacle I am afraid that I might go postal. No, not really. But I will have some very angry thoughts.

Really hope this sells well then, the second game was even better than the first. It'd be great to see a port of the third game too, they wouldn't really have to do much to that one.

It'll be an instant purchase if this winds up on Steam. I'll instantly purchase this even if it isn't, but I'd prefer it on Steam.

If they make enough money, then we get Monkey Island 2, then when they get even more money, they skip Monkey Island 3 (the graphics still holds up) and remake Monkey Island 4 in glorious 2D, then when we get Monkey Island 4 remake, then we get Monkey Island 5. And then you get the woman. Sort of.

Monkey Island 3 was HD enough that I don't think they need to bother remaking it. But it can't be overstated how much I would LOVE to buy a remake of Monkey Island 2, that game was even better than the first in my opinion.

Monkey Island 2 > Monkey Island > Monkey Island 3 >>> Monkey Island 4

And then next, remake The Dig.

I generally have that order, though I'm always iffy on whether or not to put Curse ahead of Secret. It's a somewhat nebulous and unsure orbit, where both circle each other for ownership of the #2 spot.

Can they just release the game instead of talking about remaking the sequels? Actually, I want new games, not remakes.
I do hope the return of point-n-click adventure games back to the map. A new Gabriel Knight game would be awesome.

You know what would be a great platform for point and click adventure games like this? iPhone and iPod touch. Seriously, if these games were in the App Store for like $10 a pop, they would make millions and millions of dollars.

I can already imagine the interface, too. Just point to move around, and then do an upwards swipe to bring up the action/inventory bar and a swipe down to hide it. I would never accomplish anything at work again (of course, who am I kidding... I'm posting on Joystiq at 9:01 AM... there's no work getting done here).
