UK chart get: Fight Night Round 4 pummels competition
The sweet science enjoys a fondness in the United Kingdom, as EA Sports' Fight Night Round 4 enjoyed quite a debut this past week by bobbing and weaving its way to the top, according to Chart Track data. In fact, what makes this even more impressive is that Fight Night Round 4 is the first boxing game ever to reach the top spot on the All Formats chart. We guess our mother was wrong; violence may not solve everything, but it will solve the problem of wondering what type of game will sell extremely well in the UK.

"2 boxing legends"
If you have no interest in or knowledge of boxing why would you comment on a post which kinda centers on it.
Professor Lario @ Jun 29th 2009 6:20PM
It is less the inclusion of the obvious legends and more the addition of Hatton IMO. Blue Moon indeed...
Ojman @ Jun 29th 2009 7:06PM
Hatton was in FNR3.
EpicSofa @ Jun 29th 2009 5:51PM
Why does the black boxer look like Obama?
MC Double Def DP @ Jun 29th 2009 5:57PM
pink gloves?
Mister Servo @ Jun 29th 2009 10:01PM
And the other guy looks a bit like John F Kennedy.
WREturns @ Jun 29th 2009 11:45PM
That IS weird considering that they're basically the same person...
Rob Bourne @ Jun 30th 2009 4:46AM
More importantly, why is Hatton still standing? And even throwing a punch?!?!
Psycho300x @ Jun 29th 2009 6:11PM
I really loved FN3, and was so excited for this one, but I was really disappointed by the demo, so I don't think Ill be contributing to the sales numbers unfortunately.
Moris @ Jun 29th 2009 11:16PM
What in FN3 did you like better than FN4? :P Im interested in knowing XD
Psycho300x @ Jun 29th 2009 11:22PM
well to be honest, the joystick fighting system seemed much more responsive in 3, and you actually had more control over the punch power as opposed to having to push a modifier button like in FN4.
lochack @ Jun 29th 2009 6:14PM
This was a day one purchase, but after playing the demo with horrible analog stick controls, i'll just pass on this one. Oh well EA's loss, back to UFC game.
player66 @ Jun 29th 2009 6:23PM
I bought this one @ discount and still prefer FN3. This one lost the weight and power that was there with 3. I wonder what the chaps from EA Chicago think about this title?
HDpurist @ Jun 29th 2009 6:39PM
Looks like garbage. Horrible models and textures...plastic dolls.
DigitalTwisted @ Jun 29th 2009 7:11PM
The screenshots do it no justice at all. Play the demo.
Blah @ Jun 29th 2009 6:57PM
guy on the left has the 'jizz in my pants' look going on
DigitalTwisted @ Jun 29th 2009 7:13PM
After owning FNR1, 2 and 3 when I played the demo for this I was a bit nostalgic for FNR3 and didn't like this as much.
After having owned the game for 4 days now I can safely say it's the best in the Fight Night series so far. Once the analog stick control has been gotten used to (which you should already be as it was in FNR3) then it plays like a dream and is much more fun fighting other humans than FNR3 was.
WRYYYYYY @ Jun 29th 2009 7:27PM
Bought it earlier today and playing the crap out of it. It's awesome.
FAnchax @ Jun 29th 2009 8:32PM
lol ricky hatton...
Rob Bourne @ Jun 30th 2009 4:47AM
Lol indeed. If it was a real boxing simulator, Hatton would be on the floor already.
meth0dical @ Jul 3rd 2009 8:50PM
@Rob
Ricky Hatton is 45-2 with 32 KO's. You're a fuckin moron, STFU.
Russ @ Jun 29th 2009 9:09PM
HATE IT. The new counter system is awful. Basically you can beat the crap out of a guy for 9 rounds, and unless you counter him you're screwed. Unless it's a counter, your punching doesn't do crap. Then, all the CPU needs to do is counter you 2-3 times and you're dog meat. The entire game is now basically waiting for your opponent to throw a punch that you can avoid and then try to counter.
I played probably 6-8 careers of 60 plus fights each and loved it all. I appreciate a lot of the improvements but the counter system is too heavily weighted. I'll be trading this game soon.
Russr @ Jun 29th 2009 10:59PM
Sorry I meant I played all those career on FN3.
