I have 2100+ songs on my 360 hard drive, representing some 240 or so CDs. Put that whole playlist on shuffle and I'm good to go for days if I want to keep listening. I just can't imagine I'll ever have the need for this last. fm.

The PS3 Network may be free, but it doesn't have half the stuff that XBL does.
A few examples would be Party's, that's just like talking on the phone to someone. Just it's like an 8-way call. The money paid a year is nothing compared to what they could charge, and people would still pay for it.
You can also use any cheap $5 mic on XBL, where as PS3 you need a Bluetooth one, or a USB one that is still going to cost $20-$30.
