Monolith Productions -- the developers behind titles such as F.E.A.R., Condemned, and, if you're an older gamer, No One Lives Forever -- are looking for a software engineer for a "triple-A next-generation console title," as a recent job posting on the developer's site points out. Further down into the nitty-gritty of the listing, you'll find a brief description for this new Xbox 360, PS3, and PC title: "Work closely with engineers, designers, and artists on the creation of game systems for a cutting-edge first-person action game on PlayStation 3, XBox 360 and PC."
And, sadly, that's about all of the information on the game the job listing provides. With F.E.A.R. 2 releasing this past February, we'd be hard-pressed to consider a new entry in that series, so we're crossing our fingers for a new No One Lives Forever.

I'm actually betting that you could be right-on with this. The mech combat in Project Origin was the warm-up.

if Dr. Girlfriend starred in the next Austin Powers movie, she'd look almost exactly like that

I agree with that sentiment entirely. NOLF was funy. Hmm I remember those weird cat-bombs was it and the body disappearance sprays.
I think I had more fun with the second game than the first though (Got the first as it was bundled with a Riva TNT gfx card).

She is Cate Archer, super expert spy from the No One Lives Forever series. Play No One Lives Forever 2, a game that belongs near the all time best in the fps category.

Yeah, if you played the first and missed the second, you should go check it out. :-) Oh, those mimes.... ahh... fun times.

Or not. The sequel had a lame plot, less conversations between enemies, less gadgets, eternally spawning guards and an emphasis on "wacky" humour with midgets and pink jumpsuits.
Of course it's entirely possible that it just looks worse than it actually was when put next to the near-perfection of the original. NOLF3? Yes please, as long as it's closer to that.

I'll gladly take some more NOLF, though it could very well be a Blood revival too!
I hope Warner Bros. isn't against working with Disney though, I'd kill for a Tron 3.0.

Me and you are probably the only two people who'd want a Blood remake or sequel. I'd love one.

"Tonight, we're making man cubes!"
Both of these games were the most hilarious things I have ever played. And on top of that, they were damn good FPS games in their own right.
Here's hoping its NOLF 3! Since they've already had her fight inside a tornado, in space, a volcano, etc. it must be time to fight in the center of the earth OR backwards/forwards in time!

Cate Archer! Wow, I thought I'd gone back in time when I loaded up this page just now.
Monolith is probably my favorite FPS dev out there. I would love to see some more:
- NOLF
- Blood
- Shogo
Those are some of my favorite from the old days, and all 'Lith properties. How about it, guys?

Except the "third" one. That was just awful.

Wow, I never heard of Contract J.A.C.K. until I checked Wikipedia just now (in response to your comment). A 56 on Metacritic? Ouch.

Oh it was bad.....
I think the 56 is being nice when you realise that it's the biggest reason we haven't had a true NOLF3 yet.

Ack, this reminds me of when I had entered a contest back in 1998 on the official Shogo website (it was online up to 2008 and never updated but now is finally offline) and won a signed copy of Shogo. Too bad my little brother had to tear up the box. Okay, now when I get back home, I'm going to punch him really hard. >: (

Well, that page at least still works on the website. I can't believe its been up for over 10 years unchanged and Monolith has never noticed. I remember the website for Jazz Jackrabbit 2 came up in 1997 and was removed just a few years ago.

"Older gamer?" Way to make me feel old, Joystiq. It came out in 2002. The original came out in 2000, but that pic is from the second one.

The PS2 port of NOLF is an abomination -- play the PC/Mac versions (including #2) if you want to enjoy yourself.
