NBA 2K10's oversized 10th Anniversary Edition revealed

2K Sports has unveiled the 10th Anniversary edition of NBA 2K10 -- or, rather, TeamXbox has discovered it as 2K Sports was about to unveil it -- and it may be the most overblown limited-edition release of any game yet.

The $99.99 package includes the game (obviously), an exclusive Kobe Bryant figurine by McFarlane Toys, a Kobe Bryant poster, a video about the NBA 2K series, and an account on the "Gold Room," a special VIP online lobby for the game.

Oh, the package also includes a storage locker designed to hold 20 games. That's furniture. This game comes with furniture.

I don't usually buy special editions but I'll probably get this for the Kobe stuff and the locker. I do need more space to hold my games.

same here, I just hope the lockers can accommodate both the different sizes of the ps3 and 360 games. Maybe I'll buy one of each, lol

Cooler than the Batarang because the Batarang coming with AA is plastic. What good is it if it's not going to make the news for someone killing someone else with it? (Although someone probably still will with the plastic one) :)

I mean that a 20-game capacity is not large enough to fit my needs. For god's sake, I built a box that contains an entire universe! Can't they make a box that can hold more than 20 games?

That's a pretty sweet deal for the price. I'd pick one up if I were a basketball fan.

And I do hope that the included locker is sized to fit either PS3 or Xbox 360 games. It would suck if it was designed for DVD cases and the PS3 cases were too small to fit.

If you look at the picture, it shows the locker full of NBA 2K10 for PS3.

Yes, but 10th Anniversaries usually fall on the 11th year. You wouldn't say NBA 2K1 was the series' 2-year anniversary.

if it wasnt for kobe being plastered all over this i would get it.

If it weren't for Kobe and the fact that I don't really like basketball I would be all over this!

I'd buy it for the locker, but...

* Kobe memorabilia would have to go the eBay way.
* The game has to be well reviewed, otherwise I won't buy it.
* And shouldn't be a drag on the PS3 BD-Drive. NBA 2K8 made my 1st PS3 YLOD, because of all the constant loading.

I believe the YLOD is caused by the system overheating, just like the RROD in the Xbox 360. Though the Blu-Ray drive failing is another problem with older PS3 units in addition to the overheating where GTA4 caused the Blu-Ray drive in my 60gb PS3 to fail after only two weeks.

Too bad these older units had to be the best ones like the NTSC (not PAL) 60gb models.

Sports games getting special editions this is silly.

Why shouldn't sports games get them when others do? Don't hate on the sports!

(Disclaimer: Only sports game I regularly play is FIFA 09.) Not a big sports game fan myself but we need to be fair!

I disagree, it is different because sports games are released yearly, so they do not need special editions as much. However to their credit they have only done it with anniversary editions.

And also on the other hand no one HAS to by them, so in that regard it doesn not matter, but you just have to remember, People LOVE to whine.

Its overblown but its actually kind of cool. I am not totally against this one. That locker isn't so bad.

This is almost as cool as my Halo 3 Legendary Edition. And more useable!

I never, NEVER, buy sports games. But when I did (ultra cheap), it was always 2K Games.

I might actually consider this to spite EA. SPITE!

2K Sports ROCKS. This beats my cat helmet that only holds 3 games for sure!

they should have nba 2k on there as well with updated rosters and stuff in conjuntion with 2k10. it would mean absolutely nothing but still would be really cool!
