To be honest, I'm not entirely sure what you're implying....

Am I really the only person who thought these movies got progressively shittier?

No not right, the first and third one were ok at best. Everthing after that pretty much sucked ass, in my opinion.

uhm...
yes, maybe all movies were great. but if your loyal to the books and like the details in it, then some arent that much :S 1 was extremely awesome, 2-3 great too and so was 5, but 4th was to speedy and i hated that the one i thought was the best book because of the huge amounts of action interlaced with the usual depth of HP books became a hurried mostly action (or basic to understanding story) movie.

i don't know why people liked 3 I absolutely hated it. Though it could be because it was nothing like the book, but I loved 4, 5 was ok. The first two ehhh

I thought Alfonso saved the series with PoA. Chris Columbus' movies were simply too pretty and fake for me. Alfonso brought HP more in to reality and the pacing and translation of PoA was awesome I thought. My least favorite book is my favorite movie.
I've heard that 6 is actually quite good and a bit more of a departure from previous films, which is good because they had been kind of stagnant with 4 & 5. They were simply average movies at best.

I almost never take in consideration differences between movies and the work they're based on, because that's exactly what they are: a movie based on a work, it's not supposed to be identical, and I prefer when it doesn't try to. It only bothers me when they mess up the character's most defining characteristics, such as Spider-Man not being funny in his movie.
But yeah, I think the HP movies were entertaining.

I've only seen up to GoF, but if the movies follow the same trends as the books, then OotF is the best and HBP should be evident of the series going in a direction it shouldn't.

Dammit, I hate Joystiq videos, they autoplay an ad right after, disrupting the ability to view anything on the rest of the page until it's done.

It's like what i used to do when I watched cable tv; hit mute the second an ad comes up. Then you're free to watch the rest of the videos.

alright calm down, its just that i thought americans etc didnt have much interest in harry potter or that may be becaue i don't live in america and only really watch news related to europe (specifically the UK) except for the major stuff like obama etc.
i dont understand why everyone is so hostile on this site and take anything someone says and try to turn it into an insult or something. i think ill head over to kotaku, maybe there ill be loved :(

This game looks amazing in everything BUT the characters. Those are some of the worst models and animation I have ever seen.

I enjoy the movies and I kinda enjoyed last movie's game as well. Of course it wasn't HALO 4 like some people might expect (yeah, some actually do), but more of a graphical adventure sans point n click and with some dueling thrown into it, which makes a lot of sense IMO. Supposedly this new game will have the biggest school to explore yet, and that alone makes me wanna try it :)
