Listen up, musical theater majors! Your time of reckoning approaches. Sure, your friends can easily best you at Halo 3 or Call of Duty 4 -- but in a short while, a title which will finally allow you to invoke your unique skill set will hit store shelves. We speak, of course, of Grease. The movie. The video game. For Wii and DS.
505 Games recently picked up the rights to adapt the musical film in conjunction with Paramount Digital Entertainment. The game will put players in the gaudy, unfortunate shoes of one of Sandy or Danny's cronies, forcing them to sing and dance using motion controls, microphones or the DS touch screen. Further gameplay details or a release date for Grease are currently unknown. C'mon, 505! Tell us more! Tell us more!

I think you're reading a little too much into it. It's a funny face, simple as that.

Sometimes I wonder "why do I read joystiq instead of 46 trillion other video game blogs?" and then today I realized why.

The hell?
Ok. Grease isn't a bad movie/musical. But there is no basis to turn it into a game.

U know, I hate to say this, but they are really blowing it with their approach.
Think GTA circa 1950, but without the car jacking. I see sandbox gaming with vintage street racing and car customization, some DDR action, some Singstar karaoke action, you could even put in a little bit of Liberty City with gang feud action--the story could focus on growing from a troubled gang kid to the top of your class, ala Rockstar's Bullym but with more girl appeal.
Hell, they could throw in some Guitar Hero/Rockstar peripheral connectivity and we could jam out to Little Richard and Buddy Holly.
The biggest Wii game ever?
