Grasshopper Manfacture boss Goichi "Suda 51" Suda likes to do everything to the extreme, whether it's the ultra-violence of No More Heroes or -- as we now know -- playing other developers' games, specifically Criterion's Burnout Paradise. The British dev's head honcho, Alex Ward, issued a tweet revealing that Suda had recently popped by his studio (likely after the recent Nordic Game Conference) and is a "hardcore Burnout fan."
"Hardcore" may be an understatement, as Ward disclosed that server logs show Suda has played more than 700 hours of Burnout Paradise. So, there it is: Even more proof that Suda 51 knows great games and takes everything to the extreme. It may also explain why we haven't heard anything more about the horror title he's working on for EA alongside Resident Evil creator Shinji Mikami.

Dear Joystiq:
I hope you can read this off-topic post I am going to make today. First of all, thank for making my day with your picture shops. I haven't laughed like that since yesterday night on /v/. I make this post to recommend you at least 2 things that I (and many other posters in this place) would perhaps like to see here on this site, because new is exciting.
1.- Please bring back the Daily Recap that for some reason you have stopped making since August 12, 2008, since it organizes every blog posts you have made during the day in a very convenient matter so people like me can search for the most noteworthy posts or the ones that wake my interest. Besides, with the recent site change, the posts' dates cannot be seen unless you click on them. Sure, it's not a big deal when they are in the 1-6 day range, but once the posts become a week old, it becomes rather confusing to search for a certain post of a certain date. So if you ever bring that nice feature back, I and many others would appreciate it. ^_^
2.- Please make Dead Space Girl the default avatar from now on. You know why Joystiq. You know why.
Thank you for taking your time reading this post of mine. If someone ever agrees with any of the recommendations I said, please reply or state your opinion. With your help, Joystiq might eventually turn these wishes into reality.
Have a nice day people!

I completely agree with your first point. Joystiq, it was really helpful way back when, and I think it'd be a cool thing to bring back.

Making Dead Space girl the default avatar would actually make me stop being lazy and change mine. Seriously, how is this even the slightest bit funny? It's sort of like how the south park kids laugh at all the endless terrence and phillip farts.

Mr. Dark Wang, I am a man. I just happen to like Cave Story and find Sue as its favorite character. And before you ask, no, I don't like furries (at least when they are depicted as real people or involve ugly things).
Thank you for the positive responses by the way people. I never though I'd get that much approval. If it's possible, we should at least recommend them (mostly #1) once per day/week so Joystiq can apply them sooner or later.
Thanks again!

Heh, I'm no stranger to ridiculous hours logged in video games. I played Oblivion for 150+ hours, Morrowind for 135~ hours (and after starting a new character again the other day, I'm hopelessly addicted again), and World of Warcraft for at least 130 hours.
As you can see, though, those are all RPGs. I can't even fathom how one would spend that sort of time on a racing game.

There are many, many people with over 1000 hours. I myself have over 300 hours invested into the game on various saves and accounts.

That is an impressive lump of time.
And does anyone remember all those Michael Pachter posts? It's like they never happened. The Dead Space girl has brought us all together, even the people who claim they've had enough. No you haven't. You haven't had enough.

I would love to play Burnout that long, but the most frustrating thing about that game are the people who log online to do challenges...but suck so bad they can't do them, which holds everyone else back. I mean really, it's not that hard to jump through one of the hoops at the airport. There's always that 1 incompetent asshole who fucks it up for everyone else.

yup that's true, but sadly i'm the asshole who can never do them once took me 30 mins to land a barrel roll and right after we finished the challenge i landed 2 back to back
