OK, we're sure this has been floating around the tubes for a bit, but we're more than happy to devote some attention to the very cool Brotherhood of Steel costume you see above. Made out of awesome and love (probably some foam and paint in there too), the beautiful homage to Fallout 3 was apparently completed back in March.
After seeing this, we don't feel so bad about losing that auction for the 7'10" Brotherhood of Steel statue. We'd go to work wearing this costume if we could.
[Thanks, Gawk]

Huh? The backseat of the car? I swear, that Citroen looks more like a 2 seater than a 2+2 seater...

Hmm.. I would have liked to see the T-51b instead, it's more old school... But the T-45d (the one this fella made) is more recognizable these days, due to F3... Regardless, job amazingly done. I'm jealous. I hope they start making this instead of Master Chief costumes. This kicks more arse!

That is one sick costume
Although I'm not sure how many people would be able to recognize the suit (non-gamers).

no no no you see. what you need to do is when you design your house, make a turret nest in the top middle of your house with spot lights on each side showcasing the turret nest. Then place a nice ol mini gun there with some sand bags around it. You don't need to put ammo in it. Since the thief would think if you're crazy enough to design a entire house around a minigun what other crazy shit must you have done.

Nice reflection effect there, joystiq guys.
Back to the article at hand...I wish people who make this stuff would blog the creation process. That's an awesome creation. the most I can do right now is throwdown money on fatigues towards a Naked Snake outfit, and that's easy (outside of getting all the authentic items).

What makes it a Fallout 3 BOS armor and not just Fallout BOS armor?
Posted: Jul 2nd 2009 4:48AM Vitamin Awesome said
That and the Armor is *slightly* different from the Power Armor in Fallout 1+2 (namely the Pauldrons and Helmet look different), but you can find it in Fallout 3: just do a game wiki search for T-51b.

Man, I didn't see the Dead Space girl at first.
Then I noticed her faint, ghost-like image in the window. Kinda creeped me out.
On a different note, that Brotherhood of Steel outfit is clearly made from an alloy composed of metal and awesome.

Dead Space Girl can has costume?

Joystiq, please continue to use the Dead Space girl's face in many more of your updates. Now instead of seeing updates about many games i don't care for (not that the updates are boring, you guys are a valuable source of gaming news), I can have a nice chuckle at seeing that screaming woman in the most awkward of places.
Please, continue with this for about a month. I'll even help Photoshop her face in future updates if assistance is needed. If you get bored of doing it, consider me your backup.

Wow, just went through 3 Joystiq pages of Dead Space Girl hilarity in the last half our. I'm glad I didn't visit the site all day today while at work, can't stop laughing! In a single day DSG's brilliant visage has transformed Joystiq into meme-heavy Destructoid's evil twin... Joytoid?
Anyways, I'm saddened to announce I'm retiring. Dead Space Girl's entertainment value puts me to shame, so she will be taking over for me as movie trailer dramaticist. Ahem:
"In A AAAAGGGHHHH! gone AAAAGHHHH! one man will AAAAGGGHHH! to fight for survival. But this AAAAAGGGGHHH it's personal!"
Well, DSG, we had a good ride... but I'm afraid the dawn is coming... I wonder... will you still be here when I wake???

I will seriously never get tired of pictures of skinny nerds wearing bulky costumes that do nothing to mask their meeger frame. Case in point: Hayden Christensen in the Darth Vader costume looks so unimposing as to be damn near comical.

Does this costume affect his strength and agility?
Posted: Jul 9th 2009 6:45PM (Unverified) said
Yeah, +20 Strength, +20 Agility, and bonuses to ranged combat, melee combat, and beer guzzling (its now standard issue for all BOS Knights to wear a armored keg on their back)
