"Wii has no hardcore games" is about as old, lame and untrue as "the PS3 has no games," and "Xbox 360 has only shooters." Real gamers know that each of the platforms has its gems -- but not everyone can afford all three gaming consoles.
Marvelous may be expanding its portfolio to include more non-Nintendo systems. Already, the publisher is working on a PS3 and Xbox 360 game, Rainy Woods; however, according to a report by Siliconera, the publisher may look into porting some of its diverse Wii lineup onto the HD systems. Games like No More Heroes and the upcoming Muramasa would certainly appeal to the hardcore PlayStation and Xbox crowds. In fact, Suda 51's most recent comments suggest an HD future for his franchise. With just a little bit of polish, those two could easily transform from good-looking Wii games into gorgeous PS3 and 360 titles.

Not sure if they could bring NMH over, since I think Ubi published that here but I would be interested in at least renting a Muramasa and Little Kings Story ps3/360 version. I can't tell what the others are though, but if one of them is Rune Factory I would also try that too.

I weary of NMH and how successful it will be on either the PS3 or 360 considering just how weird it is and just not may be what most PS3/360 owners are used to. And Muramasa reminds of Okami, in respect that I see a really nice looking game not doing well on any console.

I have a feeling Little King's Story would do poorly on the PS3 or 360, due solely to it's cartoony looking art style. As for Muramasa it strikes me as being much like Psychonauts, a unique looking game that most people won't buy.

Well if they're the publisher they can tell the developer what to do in a sense or pull the publishing funds. But if they're only publishing some games in certain areas then I don't know how that works for other areas.

Honestly, I think MMV is just being too damn whiny about this. Their niche games aren't selling and they aren't advertising. Their solution? Look at other consoles to port said unadvertised niche games to and probably not advertise them once again. Why don't they just use that money to fucking advertise their games?
Seriously, thats just going to screw them over even more.

Speaking of ports, I want a Persona 4 360 port.
Also, The Other M is another good candidate for a port. Never will happen though.

if Atlus announced they were bringing the entire Persona series to PSP (Yes, even Innocent Sin you bastards) I'd run out and buy a PSP right now

trust me, the last thing you want are straight up ports just put in HD. Persona and Persona II have not aged well

Your only chance of seeing Metroid: The Other M is if Nintendo and Sony where still doing that console they were working on long ago.

@Archi
Actually that system does exist, it is what we now know as the original Playstation.

Yeah but there will be (in theory) higher resolution textures, better lighting, better particle effects as well as more geometry in objects and more objects on screen at any given time.
An interesting art style can certainly mask issues related to processing but I think NMH would benefit from an HD upgrade. I don't know if it's OMG had assplodes awesome or anything but it will surely look improved.

The chores broke up the flow of the game and were pointless.

Trailers for NMH2 peaked my interest in the game, but I sure as hell was not going to shell out $250 for just NMH and Smash Bros., so here's to hoping the ports come soon!

The ironic thing is to fund these ports, they need the Wii versions to sell well

not really ... this is an external company not tied to the success of the wii versions. Obviously they wouldn't want to bring games no one wss interested in. I think some of those hardcore wii games would sell better on the PS360.
I would like to see Madworld ... for sure.

really?
Arc Rise can't compete against Square Enix games on either platform
No More Heroes cant compete against Devil May Cry, God of War, Bayonetta, etc.
Rune Factory just wouldn't sell (though they seem to be having success with the DS versions)
its sorta a double edged sword. If you make something like a RPG for the Wii, you don't really have much competition. At the same time, you don't have much of an audience because of the lack of competition

The thing with MadWorld, like Okami, it's just too much of a niche game to do any better sales wise and the controls, using only the regular controls, may be less "fun" than on the Wii. Graphically it will benefit greatly for sure though, but I just can't see a comic book art style looking any better on the PS3 or 360.

I would like to see it for myself ... if we be honest here even modest sales would pass up the wii version. Doesn't talk to the quality of the title but it didn't find much of an audience. Yeah, I just want Madworld for me ... selfish reasons.

Yeah I don't know either but if Marvelous wants to take that risk I say more power to them. If it's a good port and a game I'm interested in but didn't get on Wii I'd probably pick it up.
I guess if Marvelous wants to assume the risk they must have some sort of an impression (for certain titles at least) that the project will be profitable.
It's kind of up to them so long as they are cleared with the IP holders.

I don't mind seeing either NMH or Muramasa on the PS3, I just fear the cost to make the games being grater than the income.

it'll be like Okami. The "Hardcore audience" begs for the publisher to bring it to another console and when it shows up they ignore it or make excuses as to why they didnt buy it

Yeah but if they want to take that risk thats their gamble.
It happens a lot with the wii lately ... everyone begging for hardcore games and then no one goes out and buys them. Hopefully the Conduit sells well ... I did my part and picked up a copy.

Nah I think it's just that most people talk shit but when it comes down to it they never intended to get it in the first place.
Like all the people saying they will buy a PS3 as soon as it drops $100 ... then it will be as soon as they make it fully backwards compatible. Then it will be as soon as they bundle it with a good game ... and on and on and on. People are just full of shit. Thats the point.

I beg to differ on for at least a few title Twee -
Conduit (haven't seen sales yet - reserving judgement but I picked it up)
Madworld (awful sales)
No More Heroes (awful sales)
House Of The Dead Overkill (horrible sales)
I'll bet that Muramasa flops in North America and so will Tatsonoko vs Capcom - two games (like the others) everyone has been saying they want in North America and will buy for the longest time.
I don't think any of those games qualify in the "they aren't that good" category.
Thjese are some of the games people were amped about but when it came down to it they didn't follow through for whatever reasons. Thats their perogative but these games aren't bad games.

If you want a better answer I would say that most people on the PS3 and 360 have more technical knowledge to pirate a game. If they consider the game not to be worth the money, as they might with some of these games, they might just pirate it instead.
