Except its not Sci-Fi and it probably won't be as good as Mass Effect.

Not so sure about this one. I know a lot of people seem to like it, but it's just not clicking with me.

You forgot the rating of 'P'. You know, for Pachter? That's where Duke Nukem Forever went, after all.

"The Espionage RPG?"
Wow, that is kind of disappointing. When a game needs to explain itself on it's cover, you just know it is going to be plagued with mediocrity. Then again, I'm not really all that sure why I thought this game would be good in the first place. To this day I have yet to finish KOTOR II or NWN 2.

you bit your tongue. KOTOR 2 was every bit as good as the original if not better. Saying it's the Espionage RPG doesnt indicate mediocrity, it just says that people are stupid and if they didnt have that there they might buy it thinking it's an action game

Because there aren't enough game covers featuring a dude holding a gun. Lord knows what type of game it could be, FPS, TPS, RTS, he looks like a spy maybe its like Splinter Cell or MGS?
No its a genre melding that should be explained before someone picks up an in depth RPG and expect to play splinter cell.

The Dark Wayne and Shmil, you both make very good points. Perhaps it is necessary that the game clarifies that it is an RPG on the cover. After all, I work at a video game store and I am all too familiar with the way in which uninformed consumers purchase video games.
But perhaps the image on the front cover speaks more of the unoriginality of the game's content than the cover's text speaks of people's idiocy. Now don't get me wrong. I don't know much about the game other than what was in Game Informer when it was the cover story. How many times have you played a bald white guy wielding a gun though? Surely Obsidian could have come up with something better.

Yes but from what I've read in that same game informer is that this game isn't like a shooter. That the RPG elements of the far outway everything else. It is like mass effect but in the CIA. All of the dialogue options are there, the weapons specializations.
So a spy based RPG set in modern times, is unoriginal? I may not know of many games but I've never heard of anything like this before. I'm thinking something along the lines of Splinter Cell meets Oblivion.
