That's my point though. Zombie games are the same thing over and over again. Here they come, shoot them. Here they come again, shoot them. Oh, here come more, shoot them too. It's just boring, its been done so many times before, there isn't anything new to it. And now Call of Duty has added a Zombie mode, it's like "enough is enough", if you are going to do a Zombie game, do something unique, but even still, the whole Zombie theme games are all the same. Left 4 Dead may have had a good story, who knows, I couldn't get into the game, graphics were some of the worst I have seen.

Did you try any of the online modes, or just make a snap judgment based on 10-minutes of solo campaign?

So what you're saying is that you have no idea what the hell you are talking about. Fantastic.

I did not try the online modes, I made the "snap judgment" based on the solo campaign. Is the game for everyone? I don't know, perhaps it is, but it isn't for me. I expect, no, I demand more from a game, especially a "next generation" console game. There have been so many titles released for the 360 with graphics on par with the original XBOX and the original Playstation. I look at games such as Call of Duty: World at War for example and then games like Left 4 Dead. No comparison when it comes to graphics. COD looks amazing. Is it pefect? Not at all, the A.I in the COD series, especially on veteran settings are some of the most frustrating in any game, but graphically a game should be much better than what some of the companies are pumping out. Value should be ashamed for putting out something such as this with dull, boring, plain graphics. Is there such a perfect game though? No, not at all, but the fact that games are $60 and you get something this weak is quite frustrating. Luckily I borrowed the game, and didn't shell out the cash but a lot of people did. Sometimes I think the game magazines and websites tend to go way overboard on their ratings and hype up a game, and probably get paid under the table to do so.

Stop complaining about the graphics, Jesus are you 12? Valve has made some of the most influential games of this gaming age, all with shitty, shitty graphics but no one else is talking about those, they're talking about how amazing the experience has been. You've never even played (probably haven't even beaten) a single campaign of Left 4 Dead, and yet you whine and whine about how terrible this game is. Left 4 Dead introduced a lot of new innovations that were unseen in FPS gaming, such as the concept of an AI director that vastly improves replayability and general experience, a highly polished zombie game that isn't another shitty mod, even small things like dynamic animation and pseudo random speech. This game, which is multiplayer (why the hell would you play it by yourself) is fun as hell and some of the most innovative FPS gaming to come out in recent memory, and all you can complain about is the graphics..

Uncle Jesse said "I will say though, it seems like you really don't like zombies. If you don't like zombies, than I guess you won't like this game. Other than that, this game is crazy good fun!"

It isn't that, I guess it is because they are all the same, the concept is boring. Here come zombies, shoot and kill them. Repeat. It's like washing your hair, its the same thing every time. I guess I want something unique and hold games to a higher level than others. The World War II genre is getting old too, its been done so many times, some great games, some crappy ones. But enough with WW2, its been done, done again and done some more. It's now considered over done and the zombie games are the same way.

It is kind of like Hollywood. Rather than coming up with fresh and unique items, we get nothing but remakes or reboots. One game I am looking forward to on the XBOX 360 is Thief IV, which is rumored to be in the works. Now, if anyone hasn't played Thief 2, now that was a fun game, quite head of it's time too. Hopefully Thief IV gets the proper treatment it deserves.

Stop saying the game concept of L4D is boring, that it is wash-and-repeat, if you never tried the online modes. The game was built conceptually and entirely to be an online, multiplayer experience, and in that mode it really excels at being something unique. Seriously, you don't know what you're talking about; try the online Versus mode before you keep talking out of your ass.

Your only valid point is that the graphics are dated, and that isn't as big of a deal as you make it out to be. Source is an older engine, but still very impressive. So, maybe it is likely that all those game reviewers you think are being paid under the table, maybe they actually played the whole game before making a judgment based on that "this game doesn't look like this other game!".

boernerjp ignorantly said "LOL @ JH. Bitching about sequels and then mentioning he is looking forward to Thief 4!! Oh, the irony."

Again, another person who doesn't quite know how to read. When did I say anything about sequels? I said Left 4 Dead (not LFD2) or said anything about sequels. I said all zombie games are the same, perhaps you should re-read the original messages. Good lord people, if you are going to participate, at least know what it is that is being discussed. Oh, the stupidity is a proper way to put it, not "irony".

JH, you are complaining about Hollywood only doing remakes and reboots, and yet you are looking forward to the fourth! game in a series. Kinda sounds like a lot of remakes, wouldn't ya say? =) (hence the irony, get it?)

And I would argue not all zombie games are created equal. Compare the slow, dumb zombies in CoD to the fast, dangerous zombies in L4D. I agree its the same basic concept, but two very different breeds of zombie. I think I heard a quote somewhere that they are considering adding zombies to Thief 4 to give the franchise some variety and bring in some new players. Wouldn't that be cool?

So Geist, what you are saying is, unless you play all of the game, every different type of mode, you can't make an opinion of it? Last time I checked that was censorship...wait, let me guess, you voted for Obama, right? If you say "yes", then I will understand your stance more.

YES that is exactly what I'm saying. You're calling a game bad that you haven't played. Fine then, I'm calling you an idiot based on four paragraphs of typed text.

Haha, you're not talking about censorship, you're talking about making generalizations, you dope. If you come to a conclusion about a group of people (or games produced by a company) based upon interactions with one of them for a few moments, that is generalization. When you draw conclusions based on that, you're being an idiot - there is nothing that has to do with censorship.

Am I 12? No, I am not, but are you saying that all 12 years olds should not post their thoughts? Boy, talk about socialist behavior, why should only those be allowed to speak that agree with you or enjoy the game? If you don't agree with my posts, that is one thing, but please don't try and silence me, or anyone else who disagrees with you. I have no problem with people posting that they enjoy the game, or other games, so why should YOU dictate what people can say? Last time I checked, in the USA everyone has the right to speak, regardless of if YOU agree or don't agree. And if you don't agree, and it is frustrating you, then skip over it and move on. I bet you are one of those people who wants to silence those you disagree with on the radio or television, right? I bet you are Nancy Pelosi in disguise. Come on, you aren't fooling anyone Nancy, get back to working on those approval ratings, they are just about in the toilet.

I have found that the majority of comments have been positive towards my post, but even better, they have been professional about it. Yours seems to be he only one where you want to silence me, or anyone who disagrees. Good luck with that.

P.S. Left 4 Dead has really crappy graphics, have I mentioned that lately?

Minecart, stay out of the conversation unless you actually have a clue what it is I said and was conveying (which means what I was getting across in my message in case you didn't know). Generalization would be if I said ALL Valve games were terrible. If you were following the conversation, you would see that I didn't say that. In fact I said Half-Life 2 was one of the greatest shooters of all time, and guess what? Valve produced that! Maybe you should re-read the thread again and then you may figure out that Geist wants to basically silence me because he/she disagrees with my posting. THAT is called censorship, when you try to silence someone based on their opinions, something that someone doesn't agree with. Did you not learn that in school?

And Geist, you said "You're calling a game bad that you haven't played. Fine then, I'm calling you an idiot based on four paragraphs of typed text." Um, I believe I said I played the game. Was I supposed to play the entire game before posting my thoughts? Now who is the idiot?

Good lord Minecart, are you also trying to silence me? Do we have here a Geist 2.0? I can say whatever I want, if you don't like it, too damn bad. You are free to agree or disagree, but where you and Geist can't see to understand, perhaps because you don't grasp the underlying point I am trying to make, is don't tell someone they can or can't say something. If you don't agree, then you have that right. Am I tell either if you two clowns to shut up because you liked the game? No, not at all. I believe the open form of debate, I will listen to both sides, you guys on the other hand can't.

No shit Valve? Sequel sells more pre-orders than original? How shocking that a now established franchise has better recognition than the first!
