Alpha Protocol: The Espionage RPG: The Release Date

In addition to the date announcement, Sega released the North American box art, which can be found in our gallery. We must warn you, however, before you rush into the gallery, full of hope for a more exciting, distinctive box art image: it's exactly the same as the UK box art seen yesterday, with the "PAL" label changed to "NTSC" and the PEGI rating box changed to an ESRB box. It's still the same Pseudo-Bourne standing up in front of geography class.

Sometimes, I am ashamed to say that I live in NC. Only because YOU are here. Oh and, what the hell are you the CEO of?

This game does look interesting but i probably won't get it due to my habit of losing interest in RPG's after awhile and also my habit of not saving money:P
Need to stop buying games and start saving up for a sexy Zoom pedal:)

smcn @ Jul 3rd 2009 1:42PM
Also remove "Alpha Protocol". Just call it "Espionage RPG". Has a very retro ring to it.

Obsidian has always been kind of a second rate wrpg developer, and as cool as this game looks in certain areas, the combat looks unbelievably awful. Consider me on the fence too.

I saw this in action at E3, and it looks awesome. Looks like what Mass Effect should've been.
Deck @ Jul 3rd 2009 4:30PM
BLASPHEMY! HOW DARE YOU RAG ON MASS EFFECT! IT IS GLORIOUS!! :)
whylekat @ Jul 3rd 2009 3:45PM
This game looks soooo sub-par. I'll be shocked if it gets any review that describes It more then just mediocre. Especially with that awful title. I love RPG's but man this looks boring & bland.

I like how they try to break the mold yet still are confined by it.
How about letting me 'hack' my friends on my friends list. Or 'tag' their online ID. Or send user made videos of spy communiques for user created missions to others on my friends list. You make a challenge map with the tools provided, make your suitably grainy mission directive movie, clean and package it up, and send it to your friends. Rank/exp ups unlock more tools/abilities.
I should be able to prompt my friends to download approved mini-game engines that allow this or similar types of interaction. OR Sony and MS can start working on integrating this functionality into the online experience itself.
For instance. I download a widget. Since my friend owns AP weird things happens when he's playing it. Maybe my screen warps a little bit when he sends me a game invite, as if he is hacking my system. Maybe he 'changes' my user ID temporarily while switching my playlist. etc. etc.
