Guitar Hero: World Tour gets punk rock DLC injection
Break out those tattered jeans and torn up flannel, because Guitar Hero: World Tour is getting a new DLC pack for the punk in all of us. Dubbed the Epitaph Punk-O-Rama Track Pack, the download features three tunes from three separate well-known Epitaph artists. It may be a bit more on the mainstream side of punk, but they're good tracks nonetheless.
Here's what you'll get (440

Trep @ Jul 3rd 2009 4:31PM
My sweetest friend, linoleum!
Trep @ Jul 3rd 2009 5:14PM
Failure. My closest* friend, linoleum. :(
Kleptomaniac @ Jul 3rd 2009 4:35PM
Surprised they didn't take songs from NOFX and Rancid's new albums? Oh well i would suggest anyone with this game to download these excellent songs!
Dy-lon @ Jul 3rd 2009 7:03PM
Perhaps whey wanted to showcase some of the bands, GOOD songs. Anyhow, for me this is a no-brainer. The RB warped tour pack was pretty stale. I'm glad I waited.
Rumor of Boz @ Jul 6th 2009 7:05PM
WHat you didnt like "Coasters" ? I actually think it is a pretty good album. Not Punk in Drublic....but they all cant be =)
Kleptomaniac @ Jul 6th 2009 7:42PM
Yeah Coaster is a good album:)
VaultBoy @ Jul 8th 2009 7:08PM
I am only saying that their back catalog is solid, and the newer stuff is more hit or miss. I knew all three of these songs right away, its less common with newer stuff.
Kleptomaniac @ Jul 3rd 2009 4:37PM
Also Joystiq how dare you call these bands mainstream-ish!
Dy-lon @ Jul 3rd 2009 7:09PM
Bad Religion and Rancid get a fair amount of radio play, at least around my area they do.
Sisyphus @ Jul 4th 2009 7:28PM
I think it's fair to call them mainstream. They've been around forever.
Icky99 @ Jul 6th 2009 4:22PM
yup theyre mainstream allright.
is brian baker wearing a discharge shirt?

fabio @ Jul 3rd 2009 4:49PM
finally some awesome DLC (for my taste, at least)!!
Metal Beard Solid @ Jul 3rd 2009 4:49PM
Needs more classic rock.
panickedthumb @ Jul 3rd 2009 5:08PM
Wait... Guitar Hero World Tour has decent DLC for once? Wow! I'm excited to buy this. Pinch me!
Danny @ Jul 3rd 2009 10:19PM
first this sucks, I wanted my chemical romance. And there has been good DLC before, nickelback queen ect this isnt a first to have good DLC. Then again, im a little more excited for east jesus nowhere on RB2.
Ravnos @ Jul 3rd 2009 10:41PM
My Chemical Romance sucks. When you finish grade 9, you'll realise just how terrible they really are.
panickedthumb @ Jul 3rd 2009 10:57PM
My Chemical Romance? Nickelback?
*shudder*
Brian @ Jul 3rd 2009 5:13PM
Why 21st Century Digital Boy? I Just Bought It For Rock Band, We Need all The Bad Religion we Can Get!!
Dy-lon @ Jul 3rd 2009 7:07PM
Definitely, as long as they don't include Honest Goodbye. OK song but not their best.
They've got plenty that would make great GHWT fare, or GH5, whichever comes first. I'm glad they're letting it ride on the DLC. I hate only being able to use DLC in one game.
Martin @ Jul 4th 2009 12:38AM

rambodude72 @ Jul 3rd 2009 5:14PM
this is pretty badass dlc need some more punk soon like offspring
also some metal such as killswitch all that remains god forbid
rambodude72 @ Jul 3rd 2009 5:30PM
just found out next weeks dlc is pretty good to
"NJ Legion Iced Tea" A Day to Remember
"Bomb The World" The Sleeping
"I Am The Arsonist" Silverstein
Arcaria @ Jul 3rd 2009 5:27PM
Admittedly I was skeptical. I figured their idea of punk rock was going to be some Blink 182 ballad or some other queer shit. Not bad.
Ravnos @ Jul 3rd 2009 10:44PM
Blink 182 would be considered crazy hardcore compared to some of the bands people are name-dropping here. MCR? Silverstein? Seriously?
KIMP @ Jul 3rd 2009 6:55PM
I love GHWT but they need to have more then 3 DLC "each week".
Come on Activision, you can do better!
Dy-lon @ Jul 3rd 2009 7:13PM
Now this is a Warped Tour pack I like. Do they have an answer to the Mayhem pack as well?
Dy-lon @ Jul 3rd 2009 7:15PM
I know its not an actual Warped Tour pack, they all are regulars on said tour though. I wasn't impressed with the RB offerings in that regard, but the MAIDEN pack made up for it (despite being released much earlier).
Haohmaru (PSN - DimmuBurgerKing XBL - A Real Puppet ) @ Jul 3rd 2009 9:35PM
That's me on the beachfront combing the sand
Metal meter in my hand
Sportin' a pocket full of change;
That's me on the street with a violin under my chin
Playin' with a grin, singin' gibberish
That's me on the back of the bus
That's me in that cell
That's me inside your head, that's me inside your heeeead..
Damn. "Linoleum" brings back all kinds of junior high school memories.
Casey @ Jul 3rd 2009 10:37PM
"Break out those tattered jeans and torn up flannel"
Thought this was a punk DLC pack, not a grunge one...
BrokenTriforce @ Jul 3rd 2009 10:55PM
Its a good start. Next release I'm crossing my fingers for any of the following
I Want to Conquer the World
You
Do What You Want
Fuck Armageddon... This is Hell
dark_inchworm (on Steam!) dark inchworm (on XBL!) @ Jul 3rd 2009 10:59PM
Ruby Soho? Impressive... continue this trend.
NOOK @ Jul 4th 2009 7:04AM
Brilliant. Wrong game unfortunately.
VaultBoy @ Jul 4th 2009 3:48PM
I'm not trolling here but GH had all of the aforementioned bands first. Sorry RB. Im a fan of both. I really wish GHWT had more DLC. I own both and this is a win for ghwt. Of course RB won major points with IRON MAIDEN and THE WHO packs. I'm lucky enough to have both.
Quicksilver4648 @ Jul 4th 2009 10:04AM
"Ruby Soho" by Rancid
SOLD! If I owned Guitar Hero.
MrsEsterhouse @ Jul 4th 2009 1:25PM
And to think it's only been about a month since the last 3 euro gems were given to us!
serotoninzero @ Jul 4th 2009 2:27PM
Damnit, I never play these games anymore so it's hard for me to put down cash to play a song once or twice... but Linoleum is my favorite NOFX song. Outside of The Decline, of course. (I'd pay to play The Decline for sure.)
Sambo @ Jul 4th 2009 2:59PM
They have me on Ruby Soho! Too bad the Rock Band track packs in support of the Warped Tour are somewhat better than this. They got The Devil Wears Prada! And in that case, an ever better song than Dez Moines!
VaultBoy @ Jul 6th 2009 2:20PM
Um...no. Not in any way better at all.
ShaolinDolemite @ Jul 4th 2009 3:55PM
Why oh why is this not on Rock Band? Three song can't justify me droppin' that kind of dough. Please Epitaph, bring these bands to a platform where they'll actually sell.
Kleptomaniac @ Jul 5th 2009 8:04AM
@sisyphus
The amount of time they've been around doesn't make them mainstream.
And have you heard NOFX's new album? I'm pretty sure they speak out against enough things to stop them getting air time. Not that they would on shitty Irish radio anyway..
Dom Sacco @ Jul 5th 2009 2:57PM
I would kill for a punk rock/Warped Tour themed standalone Guitar Hero.
disdainedvice @ Jul 5th 2009 9:34PM
Punk Rock pack, it should also include Face To Face and Strung Out
