So this is kinda confusing, try to roll with us. Developer Reality Pump announced that it's working on Two Worlds II, due this winter. Only ... it had already announced a sequel to Oblivion-esque FPS RPG called Two Worlds: The Temptation. We're pretty sure the team just decided to go with the number instead of the subtitle, but we guess we'll never know. (OK, so the story's a bit weirder than we thought.)
Set two years after the original, TW II promises "completely overhauled AI and balancing standards, experienced authors, [an] active combat system and the brand-new engine." Here's hoping the changes can make the sequel not so ... you know ... wretched?

If they seriously dropped the original name for simply "Two Worlds 2," they are... challenged. That's almost as bad as the potential "Army of Two 2."
In its defense, though, the original wasn't TOO bad... after a patchin'.

The English voice acting on Two Worlds was only tolerable thanks to its laughable translation/embellishment.
Sadly, the rest of the game was less tolerable

Well, you can only go up right? Two Worlds was one of the 5 worst games I've played this gen, along with (pre-analog patch) Lair, Haze, Too Human, and Enchanted Arms.
It promised so much in early previews, that I was actually more excited for it than Oblivion but it was beyond terrible :(

I found Too Human and Two Worlds to be two (no pun intended) of my favorite games this gen. But then again, we don't agree on much.
They both try hard, but fall on their faces, but have tons of depth... you just have to get past their technological faceplants.

Too Human didn't have depth. I beat the game and it was far from the deep end. It was sitting in the kiddie pool soaking in warm piss.

I hold great sorrow for those who were suckered into buying this game in enough quantities to promote a sequel.

Best part is this author probably didnt even play the game. Two Worlds on PC was actually pretty good. It was pretty shallow but a good game.
Dialogue in the first game was painful and i hope they really are balancing the game. In the first game players who picked to be archers were so much more powerful

It was technically very poor, but underneath all the bad voice acting and poorly implemented graphics was a really interesting game, actually. Unlike, say, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic.

Dark Messiah was great on pc but buggy. On console it was a disaster

Disaster doesn't even begin to describe it in my view. It's the worst 360 game that I've played from start to finish, and I can't even tell you WHY I DID IT.

They can have 1000 different voice actors, but if they all speak like they did in Two Worlds 1 then it really doesn't matter how many they have.

I hope this one is better, I wanted to like the first one, but it was just too hard! I think it just got bit by the hype bug when people were comparing it to Oblivion, because it was DEFINITELY not Oblivion!

They should just remake the first game because no one will know the storyline of the first. Unless you were either THAT bored or read a synopsis online or something.

I literally just picked up two worlds on pc (ten bucks for a new collectors edition of a game my old pc can handle well? fuck yeah i'm buying it) and mayhaps the dialogue sucks, but i honestly would give it a seven. It might be kinda shallow, but it didn't have as many annoying things as TES (ie, five voice actors, boring main quest, the majority of the game being useless, like caves with an imp and a chest)

To clarify that, i mean the core game is worse, but there are less things to rant about in two worlds then there is in oblivion

Aye, Oblivion is best played with lots of community mods. I've only played Two Worlds on 360, may try it on PC.

The fail because they don't copy TES franchise. If it was a clone, maybe the game would be playable. Nothing like creating your character in TW and in the opening cut scene it's not who you just created, I also didn't know opening a door was a mini game.

The framerate of Two Worlds was so weird and uneven that I had to play it via peripheral vision in order to not get sick. I wanted to love that game but MAYHAP it just wasn't worth it. First and only game that ever made me sick... Hear it was patched and made smoother but alas it was too late - I returneth it.

Two Worlds was not a hard game. I guess you just got killed by the wolves or the three orcs in the beginning of the game and quit.
It was not a perfect game by any means. It was enjoyable if you looked past the flaws. The people at Reality Pump took the criticism from the game seriously.

Whoah, that is exactly what I did. Killed by orcs and wolves early on then never played it anymore. Stopped because of the death but I also had some other games I really wanted to play at the time. When I first bought it I thought it was crap then it reminded me of when the 3D MMORPG's started up..had that feel to me just a single player version.
Even if I thought it was terrible and hated it I still wouldn't complain too much considering I bought it brand new cheaper than what it would be to rent. Seven or nine bucks.

Man, Two Worlds was such a waste of time and money. I didn't buy it though. Rented it on gamefly. I laughed during the opening cutscene but then almost cried when I got to the gameplay. Yuck.

You beat me to it.
I was going to say
Oh, great. Two Worlds 2. Another opportunity to lick The Taint.

I actually modded oblivion for quite some time, easy to use mod kits really add to the life of a game. i'm thinking of upgrading my computer and buying fallout 3 just so i can mod it
