New Section 8 trailer drops in

Okay, so the latest trailer for TimeGate's Section 8 certainly looks cool. What with the robo-solders dropping into battle from the sky, calling in tanks and giant mechs, and FPS action, we'll give it that. Our only question is this: Where's the heart?

What's that? You don't care about heart? You're more interested in all the action and nifty multiplayer features? Oh, well you should watch the trailer then.

I am in the beta and it is NOTHING like Halo. Just thought I would point that out. It really isn't to much fun, even though it is quite well made.

One could argue that a bald space marine is not a "new kind of warrior," but it still looks pretty cool.

Yeah, I guess it needs more emo style hair. The armed forces should change their policy on mandatory buzz cuts too because it's boring and so overdone. In the future marines have pink frosted emo bangs.

Looks like every multiplayer game I've seen this gen, yet people will be excited to play deathmatch and capture the flag in this one too for some reason.

Guess it's just one of those things I'll never understand.

i dont remember being able to control yourself plummeting from space in any of those games.

Actually, I'd like to see that in a midevel setting. It would make absolutely no sense, but I don't think I'd mind.

i played this game at E3 and its pretty much a generic halo with a few differences. it was funny to see that there were about 12 systems set up with this and only about 3 or 4 systems were ever used at once.

I'm in the beta and the game is actually pretty fantastic. Yes, it feels like Battlefield, Halo, and Tribes all thrown in a blender, but I don't care 'cause it's crazy fun.

What year is it? I think I just went back in time to 2004. I was thinking the game looked like a derivative version of Tribes BEFORE I saw the jet-pack in the trailer.

I really hope that Section 8 in this context means going "off the deep end" (crazy) in military terms. ;)

I'm in the beta and found the gameplay to be quite enjoyable. It has a very fast pace to it a little reminiscent to Unreal Tournament but with the shooting mechanics of Frontlines. It's not too arcade-like but does a good job of requiring skill to be effective.

There really isn't anything new in this game that I haven't experienced before, but I find it to be fun.
