I am in the beta and it is NOTHING like Halo. Just thought I would point that out. It really isn't to much fun, even though it is quite well made.

One could argue that a bald space marine is not a "new kind of warrior," but it still looks pretty cool.

Yeah, I guess it needs more emo style hair. The armed forces should change their policy on mandatory buzz cuts too because it's boring and so overdone. In the future marines have pink frosted emo bangs.

Looks like every multiplayer game I've seen this gen, yet people will be excited to play deathmatch and capture the flag in this one too for some reason.
Guess it's just one of those things I'll never understand.

And honestly, it's not worth it to understand it.

Is it too much to ask for a FPS that isn't another Halo/Gears/Killzone knock-off?

i dont remember being able to control yourself plummeting from space in any of those games.

And yet everything else looked like every other FPS beforehand.

well, they cant very well have a fps shooter where you plummet from space in a medieval or civil war setting now can they?

Actually, I'd like to see that in a midevel setting. It would make absolutely no sense, but I don't think I'd mind.

You can control plummeting from a building in Ninja Blade. Same thing :P

Like Leroy, I wouldn't mind a Medieval setting. :)

haha, now that you mention it, dropping from space and mowing down endless rows of knights and peasant soldiers sounds like a lotta fun

Everything about this games screams Halo rip off, with a little Tribes thrown in there. But still looks cool.

Probably because it is, just with a different name.

I'm in the beta and the game is actually pretty fantastic. Yes, it feels like Battlefield, Halo, and Tribes all thrown in a blender, but I don't care 'cause it's crazy fun.

you know what shooters need??? characters with HAIR.

Imagine how sucky it would be to have to worry about your Fabio hair-do putting on and off your warrior helmet thingy. I mean c'mon. If hair styles are that important to you, I suggest you go play an anime-themed game.

I rather like the idea of plummeting from outer space. Should be worth a rental at least.

if its anything like the game it's blantantly ripping off, yes there is..but the story is so bad no one pays attention to it and just plays the multiplayer

I already told Capcom this.
Section 8 > Dark Void
But yes, I agree, I would call this "Too Human Tribes Gears Halo" part 4?

I really hope that Section 8 in this context means going "off the deep end" (crazy) in military terms. ;)
I'm in the beta and found the gameplay to be quite enjoyable. It has a very fast pace to it a little reminiscent to Unreal Tournament but with the shooting mechanics of Frontlines. It's not too arcade-like but does a good job of requiring skill to be effective.
There really isn't anything new in this game that I haven't experienced before, but I find it to be fun.
