Demon's Souls: North American date, deluxe edition detailed
But it is also going beyond its usual Atlus Spoils content and offering a "deluxe edition," with a 150-page strategy guide and a fancy slipcover for $69.99. According to Atlus, pre-orders for both versions will begin on July 8. Giving away extra stuff seems like a smart way to entice a repeat purchase out of the many Demon's Souls players who already imported the English-language Asian edition of the game.

Is the trophy enabled, considering the other version's been out for a while now?

Now to the topic @ hand some one give me their psn so I can "wreak" havok on them while they play.

Storm Eagle::The Blood Edge @ Jul 6th 2009 10:04AM
Hmm. That trailer seemed to grow exponentially more awesome as it went on.
Leroy_Octopus @ Jul 6th 2009 10:06AM
I'm gonna have to get this after I get my PS3.
tmacairjordan87 @ Jul 6th 2009 10:08AM
So what is this game like? I heard it's really difficult which appeals to the hardcore gamer in me, but I heard it's very old school and very jrpg-ish...which is something I really don't like. But I can't seem to get a feeling for what it's like.
I also heard people can come into your game and fuck you up or distract you, which is a HUGE no-no for me. I hear too many things, but like I said I haven't actually learned what it's like.
Leroy_Octopus @ Jul 6th 2009 10:14AM
Well it's an action RPG and... I don't know much about it either. If you don't want other people messing up your game though, don't play it while logged on to PSN.
tmacairjordan87 @ Jul 6th 2009 10:20AM
Nah that's not an option for me, cause I have friends that message me that they want to play Burnout Paradise or whatever. If they don't have an option to turn that off in game then that's just bad design.
Kill a mans jiro @ Jul 6th 2009 10:26AM
People cannot join ure game untill your a high level anyways AND you can turn this option off if you want, you dont have to allow people in your game, but it can help.
Geist @ Jul 6th 2009 1:19PM
It has zero, less than zero, in common with a jrpg. It's a third-person action rpg that's tough as nails. Press R1 to slash, X to roll out of the way, that kind of thing. Lots of customization.
ryanpaulmcgowan @ Jul 6th 2009 6:38PM
At higher levels of play (I.E. when your character reaches a certain part of the game... think Hell difficulty in Diablo 2) others can come in to your game and fight you.
By the time you're that high, you'll be able to best the enemies of the levels without a problem not because they get weak but because you have memorized their patterns through rigorous play.
It's a welcome addition once you've reached that point.
You could also bring along friends in case you are worried about it. 3v1 is always a better bet.
Synsane @ Jul 7th 2009 9:10PM
When they said old school, they mean't its going to be hard, and you're going to die a lot. Second.. I don't know where the hell you're getting your sources, but the game is 0% JRPG, and out of all the reviews I read, they agreed with that fact.
You finally heard right about the second part. If you have your full human body, a Black WT player can invade your game and play as your opponent. But I promise you that from the sounds of you.. you'll have no problem with that.. because you'll never be human after the start of the game.
It hardly happens, and they're just another monster in my eyes.. no real threat or problem.. and they'll be the ones crying at the end. For me.. I always seemed to get attacked while I'm hosting a Co-Op party and we're preparing. The foe holds no threat of course as we pummel them.
Kill a mans jiro @ Jul 6th 2009 10:18AM
WTF ABOUT EUROPE????? @_@
Tim @ Jul 6th 2009 10:25AM
Go bug SCEE.
Kdiggy @ Jul 6th 2009 10:26AM
I'm really surprised that they haven't announced it yet. If all else fails, you can always import I guess.
Kill a mans jiro @ Jul 6th 2009 10:28AM
Think i might just give up with them SCEA are much better.
Kdiggy @ Jul 6th 2009 10:25AM
I was panning on getting this as soon as it came out. I think I'll get the limited edition.
RagingStormX @ Jul 6th 2009 1:03PM
you took the words right out of my mouth... I want this game like now!
Nozzinja @ Jul 6th 2009 10:49AM
ive had this about 3 weeks from import and im loving it!
Im not even into RPG games that much but I would highly reccomend this game to anyone.
The difficulty is justified, if u run in swinging your weapon everywhere prepare to die (not just from the enemies, traps too!).
The boss fights are amazing! I mean who wouldn't love taking down a 50 foot knight!!
co-op is fun but can be frustrating if the other player just runs ahead. The player VS player combat is done really well in my opinion and encourages the invader to use stealth tactics.
And best of all the whole damn game is in english (voices too!).
If you aren't sure then give this a rental first.
Geist @ Jul 6th 2009 1:21PM
This is what happened when I picked up the controller at E3:
I saw a monster (some sort of slime...thing). I stabbed it a few times. It impaled my face twice and I died.
I want this game so bad.
Nozzinja @ Jul 6th 2009 3:00PM
Ur reply made me laugh!!!
Thats kinda what happened to me the first time i went up against one of those monsters... but in the panic of my health being low i frantically tapped the roll button and ended up falling to my death by rolling off a stairway....
Thats what i like the most about this game, even when when you die you learn something. My lesson that day was stay calm and block!
mahouneko @ Jul 6th 2009 5:08PM
Were you at Anime Expo 2009? Because I recall watching someone roll over to the side and straight off a cliff. From what I hear from the Atlus staff, that whole "rolling straight off the face of the cliff" only happened with one person.
I also watched someone get impaled by the Red-Eyed Knight (not exactly red-eyed, more like a halberdier with a shield one-poke-killing someone at the catapults).
j.howlett @ Jul 6th 2009 10:55AM
i want the deluxe addition
Ashkental @ Jul 6th 2009 10:56AM
Should i get it? I'm really thinking about it right now...
Is there trophies/there will be trophies?
It's kinda like an mmo, with pvp and all?
And the most important thing: is the story really good?
Nozzinja @ Jul 6th 2009 11:04AM
The story is good and very well put together, there are trophies that aren't stupidly easy to unlock. (most involve killing the bosses and sub bosses others are weapon and skill based)
Lets just say that many people are comparing its features to the monster hunter series. (like a MMO type game on a console) PVP is present as you invade other peoples games. (i'd tell you why but i dont want to spoil the story)
seriously buy it.
If you are not sure rent it at least BUT u'll probably end up buying it anyway though.
Ashkental @ Jul 6th 2009 11:50AM
Thanks a lot, now i'm really considering it :D
anyone care to comment?
Oh, btw, the import version has trophies?
Nozzinja @ Jul 6th 2009 12:19PM
Yep it has trophies! all in english too
Nate @ Jul 6th 2009 11:10AM
The game looks great and it sounds promising, but I'm a little unsure. How does the combat work and is the difficulty just mind numbingly hard?
Preston @ Jul 6th 2009 11:22AM
Huh, where the hell did this game come from? Looks like I might actually get more use out of my PS3 than PSN titles after all!
lord thanatos @ Jul 6th 2009 12:13PM
Stop using bing and try using google folks, here you go, served nice and hot :)

youz welcomez
phadz13 @ Jul 6th 2009 4:26PM
is this only on ps3 no 360
mahouneko @ Jul 6th 2009 5:10PM
This is ONLY for the PS3. It's a very, very, VERY good game.
Xeones25 @ Jul 6th 2009 4:57PM
This game is amazing. One of the best action RPGs I've ever played.
I don't think I would buy it again though. I need my money for other game purchases, oh yeah, food too.
I might try and sell my asian copy to a friend a few weeks before this comes out for $40-50 and then preorder the collector's edition.
lIonheart1505 @ Jul 6th 2009 5:03PM
This is just the RPG I need on my ps3. My collection is seriously lacking in that department - plenty of shooters though.
I understand the "ghost" concept of the online game-play, but do you actually get any multiplayer?
Tez @ Jul 6th 2009 5:17PM
I hear lots about how difficult this game is. I think I'll be getting the deluxe edition for that huge-ass strategy guide.
Tyler @ Jul 6th 2009 5:28PM
Reminds me of Parasite Eve in some weird creepy way. Looks cool.
rubAdub72 @ Jul 6th 2009 6:20PM
Atlus calls this the "Stop Importing it" edition . I lol'd
Atlus is awesome, if only Sega allowed them to bring the two Yakuza games that are restricted to japan...
kentuckyfried @ Jul 6th 2009 9:15PM
I think I'm the only person so far who hasn't gotten into this game (who owns it already). I dunno...maybe it's b/c I haven't spent enough time with it, but the story doesn't make any sense so far in the first 20 minutes outside of "you are possible a saviour for this accursed land."
Then I died and only have half health, then there's something about capturing demon's souls so I can get my body back...but then do what? lol.
Nozzinja @ Jul 7th 2009 11:32AM
demonssouls.wikidot.com/
last time i checked it had an error on the site. But english speaking players of Demon souls swear by this site.
Nozzinja @ Jul 7th 2009 11:29AM
ROFL no i wasn't there but im not suprised at what you just said to be honest. Its easy to try and act cool rolling around but when your character slips and falls from a great height and dies... its annoying.
The funny thing is if you are connected to the online server you can see how other people playing the game died by touching their blood stain. Some of the deaths ive seen are hilarious. (especially the ones where they realise they are in too deep and try to run away LOL).
Those red eyed knights are a pain in the a** to kill because they are so damn powerful.
If you havn't realised by now this game is awesome, im glad i imported it.
Nozzinja @ Jul 7th 2009 11:32AM
