If this came out in the US, and I had a DSi, I would buy a few of these. I had Electroplankton and there only a select handful of the games I found myself coming back to.

I bought the game for the DS and I liked it but I would say it´s more like a little piece of art rather than a game.

Which makes sense considering that Toshio Iwai is a very popular multimedia artist in Japan...

I also have this DS game and it's quite entertaining. I've lost hours just playing with catchy tunes. Iwai's purpose of Electroplankton was to bring musical creation to the everyday joe. He's not a musician himself [but he's definitely learned a lot from other projects I'm sure!] but he loves light and sound.

I don't know about downloading this game in portions but buying the actual cartridge, albeit a bit pricey, is much more sensible. IF you're cool with just messing with sound randomly since this thing has no save feature, heh.

Sadly, it seems Nintendo is only capable of releasing small portions of existing software with the DSiWare service...
