We really shouldn't have to tell you this, but today -- being the seventh day of the seventh month -- is Bungie Day. It is a day of celebration of all things Bungie, so be sure to schedule some time with Halo 3. You'll really want to make double sure that you do, because Bungie is hosting the "Bungie Vs. The World" playlist, putting forth its best and brightest to compete against the common folk. Oh, and should you best a Bungie team on this playlist, you will win a shiny new set of Recon armor.
Furthermore, Bungie will be revealing new info on some upcoming maps: Heretic, Citadel, and Longshore. As if that weren't enough, the Halo 3 render to video feature -- now called Bungie Pro Video -- will be revealed, and there's a new podcast with Firefly star (and ODST voice) Nathan Fillion(!). Keep your eyes on Bungie.net (and right here, of course) for more details.

I can't bear the drive noise anymore.. With H3 not working great installed, I'll have to suffer the noise.. I'm less inclined to join in.. hopefully ODST/mp disc will be install friendly..
..Thinking of routers.. do I really have to open all those ports to 'optimise' XBL? cos I can blast someone up to 6 times, close range with a shotgun & get practically nothing (this is on Gears, as it's the only online I've tried with my new router)

well kind of......that one game you win has to be against the 4-man team comprised of bungie employees. considering there will be thousands of people on this play-list, simply getting to play against the bungie employees would be amazing feat much less beating them......

We know pretty much that Heretic is a Midship remake. Also, Longshore is prolly a Headlong remake :D Happy Bungie Day!

The odds of playing against Bungie are incredibly small. Right now there are 130,000 Halo 3 players online, so the odds of finding the 4 man Bungie team, and then winning, aren't great.
And yes, you do need to have all of the maps to play in the Bungie vs. the world playlist.

no you do not need all the map packs even though it says you do. I never bought Legendary, but I have heroic, Mythic and Cold Storage and have been playing all day.

Ok! I'm going to go bungie jump off a bridge using the bungie cords in the garage! Maybe I'll go somewhere that uses bungie cables and inspects them regularly. Otherwise, I won't be able to comment again until I recover (if I sustain injuries I can even recover from). Even using a real bungie cable doesn't guarentee I will walk away without injury. I could recoil and get decapitated when the cable tightens around my neck on the way down the second time. Of course that's less likely than hitting the ground jumping off a platform some African tribe builds, because they use a vine that can reach the ground. You might as well not use the vine at all. You know what, I'm not going to go bungie jumping; it's too dangerous! And I'm not going to celebrate Bungie or Bungie Day because it instills too much fear.

Clever idea Bungie. They are going to be the one with the flaming heads right? My Halo 3 playing has gone down significantly after a year of addiction (max I could reach is 43!) and so this makes me want to fire up the damn thing again. Although as many said here, odds of playing them is next to nothing especially since it's 10pm here...
