@ Kdiggy
The Wii has 88MB of RAM + the 3MB of eDRAM. The PSP2000 and up have 64MB of RAM with 4MB of DRAM however only 32MB of it can actually be used by games, otherwise PSP1000 users who only have 32MB of system RAM would be S.O.L. with games designed for the newer PSPs. The Wii is definitely more powerful than the PSP, but the PSP is still pretty bitchin' for a hand held.

So should we figure that PSP Go on October 1, PSP-3000 price cut on core and bundles around November 15 in time for Christmas, PSP GO gets a price cut about July 1, 2010 or sometime there after E3 and PSP2 is released November 1 in Europe and US with an October 1 for Japan. This way there is about a year to get the digital transition going from 3000 to Go to PSP2. And if we all know and love Sony backwards compatability will be available only for the first 3 months or first X number of consoles made. Oh and the apps for Go will not transfer either. And not to mention all the new accessories that will be available for PSP2 that are not compatable with GO.

Hello Sony marketing. Way to kill the Go before it is even out

That's why it's called the PSP GO and not the PSP COME.

Its a rumor, dammit. Who knows if this is even true? Just like those possibly bogus possibly not tech specs for the next Xbox and the Nintendo 6 that were tossed around for a while.

Not Sony marketing's fault.

Well said. That is exactley what we will get when it comes to sony's every so brilliant marketing and business model. The GO is already dead before it comes out as a year from now, roughly speaking, the next generation of hand held Sony devices will be here.

Doesn't seem like that great of a leap to me, certainly that would bring it on the level with Wii, but as we well know, very few games make the Wii look better than your average PS2 games, so Sony will have a hard sell on their hands in that department

Unless the upgrade includes something more significant than just a tech upgrade, Sony might want to consider something stronger, if that's going to be the focus of their appeal.

If Nintendo were to release a new DS that was on par with the Gamecube's (or Xbox's, for that matter) abilities, you wouldn't be impressed? You can't honestly tell me no.

It's all rumor anyway, but to say having a portable as capable as last gen's strongest console isn't "that great of a leap" is lunacy.

Well yes, but because the DS is currently on par with an N64, so it would be a 1.5 generational jump. This would be looking like a GameCube to Wii style leap, which isn't bound to impress on its own, not without something else to back it up (as Wii had)

?

Not a great leap?

Considering its worse then PS2 in its current state, lets analyse this if it's true, PS2 was weak against the original xbox and Gamecube in terms of graphics and original Xbox games are comparable to many Wii games produced today, I think thats a damn huge leap, in terms of handhelds, but obviously, according to the moans and groans, Sony has a chip that can create 360 like graphics for a PSP but chooses to go for the weaker chip because......they feel like it, yup, that just about makes sense, and whats that about graphics being wasted on a smaller screen? The day you find me moaning about Killzone 2 esque graphics being wasted on a PSP while I'm playing it is the day my skin colour turns pink.

This is the best place to read peoples utter turd.

Irony, Sony adopts Dreamcast video architecture. I wonder if they will be integrating the SuperH for their main chip as well?

Ah well, at least the DC will live on somehow.

"This is simply a rumor, for now, but if true we probably won't be hearing about the PSP2 until 2010 at the latest."

Don't you mean 'at the earliest'?

A psp2 with the power of XBOX and DX10!
Maybe it' s XBOX portable!
Are they sure of what they said?

if psp=ps2 then psp2=xbox it' s not so powerful!
Psp2 must be a ps2.5 - ps3 portable!!!

"the chip will act as both a GPU and CPU simultaneously".
This is INSANE!
Great graphic - poor cpu, a lot of cpu -bad graphic!
