To die for: Japan getting Shadow of Destiny PSP port
Siliconera reports that Konami Japan will be releasing a PSP version of its kooky time-travel adventure, Shadow of Memories, on October 1st. Known as Shadow of Destiny in more American parts of the world, the game begins where many come to an end -- with your unexpected demise. Conveniently, you're given the opportunity to repeatedly travel back in time to prevent your own, numerous murders at the hands of an unbelievably persistent assailant. And in true adventure game style, doing so requires the kleptomaniacal hoarding and improper application of random items. Believe it or not, a well-placed frying pan will save your life.If you're not particularly keen on searching for the ancient PS2 or PC versions, feel free to join us in our clamor for an English version of this portable release. Konami has spoken: "There are no plans to release a PSP port of Shadow of Destiny in North America at this time."
Initiate incessant clamor ... NOW!

Is this game any good? To be honest, I own it since I bought it on sale a while back, but I never got a chance to give it a try.... guess I could try it now, in all it's upscaled glory.

Not sure how it holds up to time (get it?) but back when it came out, it was a very underrated game. It was trying to do something different and was a fun experience.
Dansk @ Jul 7th 2009 8:45PM
You can probably get this game almost new for 5 bucks. I already have mine, though ;)

I loved this game, but most American audiences are definitely put off by way this game is pulled off, especially in regards to its Presentation.

Love this game to death, I can't stress this enough. PLEASE Konami, bring this port to North America!
Shiaoran @ Jul 7th 2009 9:44PM
Yeah... At one time no one believed Time Hollow would be released outside Japan too.
BruceyMcBruce @ Jul 7th 2009 10:06PM
I loved this game. It was probably my first experience in adventure type games. There were so many different endings and finding them all was a pain but worth it. I might consider getting a psp just to play this game. But then again I could just go and find a ps2 or pc copy.
Cloud_ST @ Jul 7th 2009 10:13PM
This is a really,really awesome game from the old days,the beginning of the PS2...Ahh what a Joy...the first DMC,FF X,GTA 3...

Ah kleptomania, Ludwigs favorite way of describing an RPG.

"more American parts of the world" ? !?!?!?!
Now admitedly in my hasty look at a World Map, the only "American" part of the would be the United States. Canada, England, Brazil, all of Europe, Africa, South America, and so forth are NOT American. :)
PS - careful on the use of overgeneralizations.
Cloud_ST @ Jul 8th 2009 12:52AM
Maybe he was talking about the whole "America" as a continent.
This an old and very discussed argument, but the way I see it you can call your country "American" if is in the continent of America, and America is both South America and North America, they are NOT different continents, just different parts of the same continent.
PD:Why the hell did you put brazil outside of south america xD?.
Stix Remix @ Jul 8th 2009 12:26AM

I tried playing this a few years ago. The load times were horrible and constant. I wished I could have played for than an hour.

The most under rated game - EVER!
This game was, still is I should say, one of my top favorite games on the PS2. I've went through this game countless numbers of times. It was something that was completely new and original in every single way.
The game was either you loved it or hated it I think, I personally loved it.
vaquito525 @ Sep 16th 2009 10:37PM
i loved the original!! it was so different from other games of the time and very visually beautiful as well as a cool concept and story. would love a US version of the psp port, perhaps with new things added (endings, story lines etc) I'd definately buy a copy if it were to be released, in a heartbeat!
