I am one of the five people in the world who despise Star Wars, so I am very happy to see what I consider LucasArts' good games getting some love.

Once I complete chapter one of Tales, I've already earmarked some pocket money for Fate Of Atlantis (I owned a naughty copy on the Amiga in my early teens) and The Dig (I missed out on it the first time, and could only find it in packs with games I already had).

I super duper highly recommend the Indy games. Hilarious dialog and awesome job creating atmosphere!

I saw Thrillville at my local Big Lots for $6. I may have to go back and pick it up.

They actually have some decent PC games for $4-6. I got a game called 'Mount & Blade' that looked interesting and I'm pretty happy with it.

Some other games I saw there were SimCity: Societies, Alone in the Dark, Gothic 3, Dark Messiah of Might and Magic (or whatever it's called), and one of the Brothers in Arms games.

Woo! Looks like I'll be buying some adventure games! Which should I choose: The Last Crusade, Fate of Atlantis, or Loom?

I'm leaning towards Fate of Atlantis, but I just don't know.

Fate of atlantis is the best... but maybe start with the older games and then work up to the best?

I'll probably just wait until the inevitable Steam weekend sale, and buy way too many games. God damn Valve know exactly how to press my buttons, you should see the size of my games list on Steam...and my penis...

Also, buttons.

has anyone actually downloaded and tried any of these on a current generation computer? I tried several of my old lucasarts games on my gaming system (battlefront and kotor) and I could not even get them to work.

they don't like current hardware, they don't like the new operating systems, the max resolution settings on the games is a fraction of native LCD support. nothing ruins a game faster than trying to force 800x600 onto something like a 22" widescreen (and seeing the aspect ratio screwed too) ...

"I'm selling these fine leather jackets."

I'm going to hold out for a weekend sale as well. I have all the adventure games backed up to a DVD with SCUMMVM now, so I don't need Steam. SwotL, X-Wing, and Tie-Fighter on the other hand...

Got Fate of Atlantis and Last Crusade before work, and was going to pick up Dig after, but now I'll wait until I hear more about those "issues" they mention.

I love Monkey island (will be buying the special edition as soon as I can) and was just telling a friend of mine yesterday that I was upset because I never got to play Loom. Finding out the next day that I can now play Loom for $5 - sold! Now I just need to get out of work so i can play it.
