YES. The World Ends With You is so addicting. I got the game about a week or so ago for only about $17 & I'm enjoying it very much.

Agreed. I tend to not care for nomura's typical ridiculous melodrama and pretentious plots, but even despite those,I loved TWEWY.

How can they even do a TWEWY 2? The first one was just so epic. I mean it is like Skies of Arcadia epic(You don't want a sequel killing the epic sauce do you?)

It would certainly have made things easier. Those keyblades just don't seem very sharp to me.

I always thought that. They always came off as being more akin to a steel pipe than a sharpened blade.

Ya know, as awesome as chainsaws are in video games, I think it would've REALLY been out of place in KH. I think making the Keyblade the weapon was a VERY wise decision. It fits the game more, not to mention it's more original & interesting.

Thank you, Japan, for making the sort of people who'd actually pitch a chainsaw at Disney for their game. Also, thank you, Nomura, for reusing a The Bouncer character instead of making a Donald-Duck-focused game. Guess that explains the PK: Out of the Shadows ad in the back of the first game's guidebook...

Can't wait for a UT/HL mods with Kingdom Hearts skins/characters and chainsaws to faithfully re-create the original idea for Kingdom Hearts! =D

"Square wanted to make a game starring Mickey Mouse," Nomura said, as translated by 1UP, "and Disney wanted a Donald Duck title. Meanwhile, I wanted neither." The resulting compromise was "a game featuring lots of characters without focusing on any particular one."

Then why in King Mickey's name did you agree to do the project then?

Also, I find it weird there's this HUGE multimedia campaign for the Kingdom Hearts metaseries overseas that the North American Disney barely even acknowleges at times. You'd think there'd be a larger push than say Jonas or Hannah Montana.

Disagreements between parties are just another part of the creative process. FWIW, I think the resulting compromise worked out well in the end.

And classic Disney characters and films are insanely popular in Japan; plus, that country is also where Square Enix is based. That said, the marketing of KH there is not surprising at all.

"It occurred to us that the chainsaw was the perfect Nomura weapon, because the teeth on the chain are reminiscent of those on a zipper."

Perhaps the chainsaw will come back for Final Fantasy Versus XIII? That I'd like to see.

Gears of Hearts, anyone?
In my opinion, a chainsaw would've been a better idea than the Key Blade. When you think of the ways the main character could have developed depending on the choice of weapon, it probably could have changed people's perception of the games kid image (which is still held today by some). With the Key Blade, the main character was kind of stereotypical of an RPG I already played (uninteresting). With a CHAINSAW, he probably would've been confident at any challenge and probably wouldn't have been shaken that much during the adventure just accepting things as he goes (a more like able fellow like Bleach's Ichigo). Too bad Disney execs are a BUNCH OF PUSSIES. But this is just my opinion and you can agree or disagree. And don't Vote me down just because you think differently. My post does relate to the article. Anyway, CHAINSAWS FTW.
