During a recent chat with CVG, Bioware co-founder Greg Zeschuk spoke about Dragon Age: Origins and what DLC and demo plans the company had for the title. With the PC version shipping with a really robust tool set, console gamers may feel like they're missing out, but Zeschuk says that Bioware is actually looking to get that user content from the PC over to consoles. Aside from that, there's also discussion of new dungeons and expansions that could be DLC, though Zeschuk wouldn't comment beyond confirming DLC is in the works.
As for the possibility of a demo preceding release, Zeschuk says that likely isn't in the cards. It's a problem of finding the right part of the game to offer to fans. "The way the game's set up actually makes it hard for a demo because there are six origin stories and we don't know whether to just pick one or a couple." We'd just say pick a couple (more is better, right?) and go for it, because who doesn't like free content (other than Communists)?

Good luck getting Microsoft to bend on the mod front, you're much better off trying with Sony as they've had it done before. It's probably something that's much more likely to take off in the next generation of consoles, since everyone's trying to embrace this user created crap lately.

That content is created on the console, Bioware want the stuff created on the PC on the consoles.
The PC tools for this user generated content are 99% of the time much more advanced than anything a console is capable of.
Epic done it with the PS3 version of Unreal tournament 3, all the PC mods can be imported onto the PS3 and used on there, so yeah, its clear they could do it on the PS3, but microsoft apparently doesn't allow developers to give players the ability to import stuff onto the console due to "security".

Communities keep good games going a lot longer.
It's good Bioware are attempting this there is a lot of great mods and content that people put together to try out once you complete a game and give it a lot more longevity.
Plus as good as developers are they are never in touch with the gaming community like gamers themselves. A lot of the times you can get mods that fit in better with what you want than with what the developers had in mind.

I was coming here to say this. The idea of basic communism is the people can distribute and get what they want from each other (A farmer may sell what he grows for however much he wants without need of liscence or whatever and take all the money for gimself and his family, rather than having to have someone take a cut of his livlihood).
I'm pretty sure they meant capitalism.

Actually, that's not the basic idea of communism at all. What you're describing is a system of small freeholders who each hold private property and interact with each other in a regulated free market system. That would be properly called distributism.
In communism, there is no private property.

I love Bioware and I'm upset Mass Effect 2 ain't on ps3. But I need to be sold Dragon Age can work on the console, had it been like Oblivion I'd be stoked beyond belief, but a huge party system, ugh... I DO NOT pause games to establish some sort of strategy, it feels like I'm cheating and takes you out of the element... oh well, who knows I will keep my eye on it.

You say you like Oblivion and then say you hate pause. Guess what, Oblivion pauses when you hit the player menu. Its the same with this, the exception being you just choose skills for your party. I have to pause every so often as Oblivion has only 8 mappable spell slots and this makes me pause every so often to get the spells I want, had to pause.

If the console guys want stuff from the PC, then PC gamers should be able to ask and get stuff on the PC. Cevat Yerli said he kept getting requests from his nephews and other people he knew that when would Crysis come to consoles? How about I keep asking if the GTA4 DLC will come to the PC and I'll get it? : )

Well, Epic got mods to work on Unreal Tournament 3 for PS3, so why not?

Could really care less about Mods, and If I did I would get the PC version. If mods really did play a role in the decision of which version to get this could hurt sales for the PC version but mostly it won't because no one cares.

I don't get the auto-Microsoft bashing. There is obviously a reason MS is hesitant to allow user to created content.
One of the main draws to console gaming is that they just work. I used to be an avid PC gamer and I just got burnt out constantly tweaking, updating and such just to play a new release.
I would love to have user created content on my 360. I just don't know at what expense.
Think about it....there's bound to be people just dying to unleash the first major virus on a console. There's all kinds of things that could cause issues by letting something created by "joe un-vetted" run on your console.

I'm very amenable to this decision. Bioware is the epitome of a great developer with a head on their shoulders.
