EA announces Command & Conquer 4 (intentionally, this time)
That press release EA linked to yesterday? It's up now, which makes Command & Conquer 4 that little bit more real. Not only that, but everything mentioned in that online survey was also real. This will be the final chapter of the Tiberium series and will feature "persistent player progression and [an] all-in-one mobile base" when it launches in 2010 for PC.
Command & Conquer 4 will also feature a co-op mode for the two campaigns, as well as a 5-vs-5 objective-based multiplayer mode, allowing for a new "social real time strategy experience." Aren't those called LAN parties? A new episode of Battlecast PrimeTime, which will be available on July 24, will give more information on the game, and the exclusive reveal of the first cinematic trailer will be shown on GameTrailers TV on July 23.

AAAAAAAAAAAH Damn it
We wanted Generals 2 ....
CTC XBL-supapaypamawio PSN-ctclaw @ Jul 9th 2009 11:17AM
Correction, YOU wanted Generals 2.
Captain Planet @ Jul 9th 2009 11:32AM
No, WE wanted Generals 2.
CTC XBL-supapaypamawio PSN-ctclaw @ Jul 9th 2009 11:38AM
"Just because there is another C&C game coming doesn't mean the games are good."
If you don't think the games are good why would you want another C&C game at all?
Captain Planet @ Jul 9th 2009 11:54AM
CTC, you're more annoying than Bill O'Rielly at obscuring people's comments/opinions. You're dumbass isn't worth a coherent reply from me or anyone else here.
CTC XBL-supapaypamawio PSN-ctclaw @ Jul 9th 2009 12:05PM
How did I obscure that in any way? That is exactly what you said, followed by comparing the series to Uwe Boll movies. You just don't like when you can't think of anything to say back so you whine about it.
CTC XBL-supapaypamawio PSN-ctclaw @ Jul 9th 2009 12:11PM
You did the same thing yesterday when I said the reviews on Metacritic for the C&C games have been good overall. Instead of coming up with any valid point you just whine and try to get a snarky comment in.
dogmaticatheist @ Jul 9th 2009 10:50AM
I might be interested if it was coming out for Mac like C&C3.
BlaqueBeird @ Jul 9th 2009 1:51PM
Why do gamers even buy macs? Isn't there some rule against that?
Captain Planet @ Jul 9th 2009 10:52AM
"persistent player progression"
I'm guessing this means RPG elements ala Warcraft 3/DoW 2?
Azerael @ Jul 9th 2009 10:56AM
Mechwarrior is rebooting my childhood, C&C4 is shitting all over it.
:(
Storm Eagle::The Blood Edge @ Jul 9th 2009 10:57AM
I concur.
CTC XBL-supapaypamawio PSN-ctclaw @ Jul 9th 2009 11:48AM
So it's not good? Where did you get to play it at?
azuravian @ Jul 9th 2009 12:33PM
I never understand these comments. Your childhood is still completely intact. If Mechwarrior 1/2/3 etc, and Command and Conquer 1/2 are so great, they are still available to be played. As well, no one is requiring you to play Mechwarrior reboot or C&C4.
WREturns @ Jul 9th 2009 12:58PM
My childhood is NOT intact after the Transformers movies and anyone that says otherwise is a reverse vampire pedophile.
azuravian @ Jul 9th 2009 2:14PM
@WREturns
It's funny that you said that, because I was going to include a comment in my previous post that even the Transformers movies didn't destroy my childhood, because I still have my DVD and VHS (yeah, I said it) copies of the original animated movie.
Ed @ Jul 9th 2009 10:58AM
". . . allowing for a new "social real time strategy experience." Aren't those called LAN parties?"
Yes, minus the toxic body odor part.
Livi70590 @ Jul 9th 2009 4:20PM
I thought they were called Party systems, but oh well.
Rhamsey @ Jul 9th 2009 10:58AM
I still play the old red alert for the PC (98?), and there are still people who play online (although they are really good, so it sucks). but their newest games just dont seem to last as long. maybe its just me.
Adam @ Jul 9th 2009 11:01AM
I hope they don't change how it plays too much; I have loved Command and Conquer since Tiberian Sun.
CTC XBL-supapaypamawio PSN-ctclaw @ Jul 9th 2009 11:19AM
Same. I have loved every C&C since the first, it's easily my favorite RTS series, although Age of Empires comes in a close second.
prodigy69 @ Jul 23rd 2009 8:11AM
you asked if I was on b3ta?
yup that's me :)
add me if you want prodigy_69

LOLOL, dude i am just leaving an actual comment. Dude, you really drove my traffic up yesterday though.
CTC XBL-supapaypamawio PSN-ctclaw @ Jul 9th 2009 11:27AM
Hahahaha sure I did. You do know you can put your website information in your profile right? Then if anyone cares to find out if you have a website they can check there.
NoughtSoClever @ Jul 9th 2009 12:04PM
Almost looks like the Shagohod.
http://www.konami.jp/gs/game/mgs3_sub/america/mgs/pic/chara/shagohod.jpg
Hedgeson @ Jul 9th 2009 9:27PM
Although it may appear elsewhere, the 4 tracked-pods dates back to the Mammoth Tank of C&C. The Shagohod looks like a mix of a mammoth tank, a Nod Stealth Tank and a NOD subterranean APC.
RichChap @ Jul 9th 2009 1:59PM
YEAAAAAAAAAH!
CNC3 was my favorite game in the series (mainly because RA3 sucked and I built my first windows comp right around the time CNC3 released, so I never played the others), so this is just about the best thing I could have hoped for. I don't know, for some reason Tiberium Wars and Kane's Wrath were just so much fun to me. This is great.
uncle jesse @ Jul 9th 2009 12:44PM
Needs more Micheal Ironside
Kero9x @ Jul 9th 2009 1:15PM
Who else looked at this image and thought "Landmaster"? (for those unfamiliar, that's the tank from the Star Fox games)
NeoK-182 @ Jul 9th 2009 1:16PM
Well from the one pic this looks good. can't wait to hear more about it. and it'll be nice to finally have an end to the tiberium saga.
Hopefully we can get a generals 2 after this. I was actually one of the people who enjoyed generals a lot. especially the mods for it. just amazing stuff there.
BlaqueBeird @ Jul 9th 2009 1:54PM
I enjoyed c&c3, mainly because of the map editor. I made a map that was all tiberium. The goal was essentially to win before all your shit melted.
WREturns @ Jul 9th 2009 3:06PM
Calm down, Captain Planet. You don't want to blow a caldera or anything.
Captain Planet @ Jul 9th 2009 3:09PM
Captain Planet is always calm.

Spike941 @ Jul 9th 2009 3:47PM
Ehh, I lost faith in this series a long time ago.

New PC fund starts here...sigh.
CTC XBL-supapaypamawio PSN-ctclaw @ Jul 9th 2009 6:42PM
You called out my opinion by saying something that contradicted what you said yesterday. When I said the games had good reviews you couldn't come up with anything but an attempt at a witty comment. Nothing worth reading, no alternative to metacritic, nothing. Look up above, my comments regarding you as a whiner are the ones getting upvoted.
Hedgeson @ Jul 9th 2009 9:24PM
NICE one, WRE.
I need to buy C&C3 and RA3. I loved the others, even Generals. I even liked Emperors Battle for Dune.
There's nothing like buying a C&C game and playing with your brother in lan against 6 AI enemies.
Destructive Damien @ Jul 9th 2009 10:02PM
Command and Conquer 4 is going to be like Rise of Legends, btw that was an epic game
Coolness7 @ Jul 9th 2009 10:17PM
Hi, im Coolness7, you probably know me from Fileplanet, Modding Sites, and even from Tournaments, i just wanted to say that C&C 4 is actually going to be alot more like Tiberian Sun than Tiberium Wars, btw Rise of Legends is a good game, but not unfortunately many people play it online anymore. RA3 would have been super epic if it looked more like generals and not too cartoony.
--Coolness7, "just wanted to say hi"
CTC XBL-supapaypamawio PSN-ctclaw @ Jul 10th 2009 11:00AM
Actually now I know you as the guy with the big ego.
Gamer4Life @ Jul 10th 2009 2:26AM
I loved all the C&C games except Red Alert 2 (RA3 was a lot better though) but I'm not getting this until it's on 360 I can't stand M/KB anymore. I hope EA announces a release date for the 360 version soon as I really want to finish the series.
PeterF @ Jul 10th 2009 12:18PM
You seriously like playing with a controller? Maybe you are just so bad at the game that you need everyone else crippled, too.
Gamer4Life @ Jul 10th 2009 12:21PM
Actually peeter I find a controller not only much more streamlined but also much more comfortable. I gave up the PC for gaming years ago cause of the lack of proper game pad support.
Destructive Damien @ Jul 10th 2009 3:17PM
i still go with pc: more flexibility with options, mods, extras, besides the only strategy game i liked for PS3/Xbox360 was endwar, and it ran well with it.
