Codemasters' ambitious open-world racer Fuel gets a demo today, available on Xbox Live, PSN, and the PC (via the Fuel site). According to Videogamer, the demo will feature the Ocean Rush career event, a traditional race featuring seven different drivers, and Blitz, a time-based event featuring checkpoints.
Even more surprising is the demo's inclusion of some sweet multiplayer action for console owners. On the Xbox 360 and PS3, gamers will be able to race online for two weeks, with the demo allowing up to 16 players into a limited portion of the Tsunami Reef area in Free Ride mode. Or, if you're feeling like you need a bit more competition in your life, know that up to six racers can compete in the Ocean Rush career event race.
You can bet we'll be downloading the demo, mostly to see how far the game has come along since our play session earlier this year. What about you?

i know it's not developed by codemasters, but with their name on the box, this had better be good. i'll be playing this demo for sure.

The game got mixed reviews. Since it says Codemasters on the box, I wouldn't set your expectations high.

that made zero sense, Codemasters have created some of the finest racing games out there. Fuel wasn't great but no need to bash Codemasters. GRID/DIRT/Pro Race Driver...

This is how a demo should be done. Thats perfect because you get a full taste of everything there is to offer. Not a full taste but enough to wet your appetite.

If you like Burnout:Paradise for the "exploration" aspect, especially in single-player mode, or are a fan of "Test Drive:Unlimited" or "Auto Assault" (the defunct auto MMO), then you really need to check out this game. The game world is HUGE, the environments are varied/beautiful/post-apocolyptic, and the challenges can be hard. This is a driving game for people who LOVE to ->drive

Mixed reviews, yes, but the gang of people I hang out with (who are racing nuts) say it's pretty solid. Love on second sight. After playing the demo, I'm inclined to agree.
Compared to the size of the full FUEL map, Fallout 3's map looks like a flowerbed. It took me about 6 minutes to fully cross the demo map from north to south, and that's only an eighth of one of the smaller areas. Wow.

the exploration factor still has me fairly curious, despite the reviews i've seen. some people may not like driving for the sake of driving, but that's something that had me piqued when i first heard of it. NOW WHERE IS THE DEMO?

The demo wasn't on the PSN update. Where's the friggin' DEMO!!!???

This game sucks. races are too long, driving around the map in free mode collecting things is a real pain. everytime i did a challenge id be forced to go back to the 360 dashboard and then reload the game as none of the buttons would work on the game menus. screen flashes black every now and again when racing, some kind of graphical thing. and as for the tornado races, well they were cool the whole 2!!!!! of them, i thought that was a main selling point. and theres only 2 damn races with them in.
basicaly. i had very little fun playing this game and i usualy like these kind of games. it was just far to repetitive, boring driving anywhere. bad graphics and vehicle handling. And jut generally too big a map for its own good. /rant
my dog just farted
p.s make sure no one messages you via live whilst your playing this and its saving, as for me, it crashed whilst saving. meaning i lost all my save and had to start again. so i snapped it in half and chucked it out the window. thats what i think of this game

Idk, I really liked this game.
Whoever said the graphics suck is crazy. The terrain and lighting effects in this game are spectacular.
I think people just had their expectations set too high for this.
