Give Age of Conan a second chance, get two weeks free
Have you turned your back on Hyboria, nay, the entire Age of Conan? The MMO may be populated with barbarians, but its developer, Funcom, is really being quite nice to turncoats by offering two free weeks of gameplay if you return. No questions axed.
This re-evaluation campaign comes in advance of August's planned game expansion, which itself is set to be unveiled at Germany's GamesCom, which runs August 19 through 23. The wise barbarian will pocket those 14 days of free play until then.

I'll probably peep this. Being a huge Conan fan in general I really wanted to like AoC when it came out.

"No questions axed"
That was awful

Wow, great insight.

Hmmm...DDO is free, though...

Outdated PC's need not apply.

TITS!
Agathos @ Jul 9th 2009 10:45AM
Amazon.com has this for $12 that makes the startup cost pretty low, I'm guessing the monthly is still $15?
Shagittarius @ Jul 9th 2009 11:14AM
Ah, the riddle of steal.
TwistedBishop @ Jul 9th 2009 12:11PM
@Agathos: That's right.

What is best in life?

Actually Randy, you have to activate your 14 days by July 22nd...so you might want to check the details before suggesting former subscribers wait until August.

Been playing it for a few days now, and it is now what it should have been at release. Much more polished and playable. PvP side still needs work, but its nothing near as bad as it was. Try it out! See what you think.

Did they fix the necromancer ?
I felt like they wanted to kick me in the junk for playing their game by the time I left.
DeMerch @ Jul 9th 2009 12:44PM
I find it curious that Joystiq is reporting on this turd, but has not mentioned anything about Lord of the Rings: Online being free for everyone, new and old players alike, between today and July 15th.
Nightbug @ Jul 9th 2009 12:56PM
LotRO is a bit of a turd, too, if we're to be brutally honest.
Shagittarius @ Jul 9th 2009 1:39PM
LoTRO is a way smaller turd than AoC.
Omega2k3 @ Jul 9th 2009 7:20PM
So, you've never played AoC? Just because it got bad publicity doesn't mean it was bad. Make up your own minds.
mocax @ Jul 9th 2009 9:28PM
i'd get it if it's free to play, like Guild Wars...
maybe pay for extra storage, character slots, unique items etc....
Mr Lee @ Jul 10th 2009 8:08AM
The expansion isn't 'planned' for August, it's going to be shown to the public for the first time in August, at GC.
DeMerch @ Jul 10th 2009 8:19AM
I did play AoC and nowhere in this post did I say that I didn't.
And I'll agree, LotRO was a bit of a turd too, but that one at least held my interest past the free trial.
