RE4 on gamecube/ps2 is one of my all time favourite games. I don't really like the wii at all but I think the wii port of RE4 is the best game on the system. I'm a huge fan of the series and it's sad that I like the wii port of RE4 better than RE5. I guess if it happens that is cool for the people who want it but RE4 is just so much better so I don't really see the point.

Meh, wasn't that good of a game (and I got my xbox along with it).

If it was longer and Sheva wasn't there I would give it another chance.

What we really need is wand functionality patched into RE5 for the PS3. That is a MUCH better idea.

If they could pull it off without totally effing it up I'm all for it

But does the Wii WANT a port of RE5?

I think the Wii would rather have a decent sequel to RE4, or a port of RE2 using the RE4 controls.

RE5 isn't worth the effort to try to port it.

That's a very good point, I would very much rather see a REmake of 2.

But Capcom are too fucking lazy to do such things, they'd rather hit a mill with a rail shooter. They do make me sick at times to be honest, despite the quality stuff like Monster Hunter and the other REs, not to mention DMC.

I'd be happy with some kind of spin-off with RE4 engine and gameplay, not neccessarily RE5. Wii can't pretend to be as good graphically, but at gameplay it wins every time.

I do like the chronicles, but they are a different genre.

If you want to talk such things Kawata, then grow some balls and don't release RE on the Wii as a fucking rail shooter. RE 4 sold millions on Wii and it was a re-release. What does that say to you? Saying that a rail shooter makes more sense is a cop out.

Fuck you, Kawata. Fuck you until you treat us right (concerning RE).

I'm playing through RE5 for the first time at the moment and enjoying it more than I expected. I was reticent to even play it because I was worried that I'd hate the control scheme after playing RE4 Wii so many times.

Sure enough, I did hate it for the first hour or so. Sheva drove me nuts at first too but eventually I got used to having her around.

I'm on chapter 6 now I don't remember any point in the game that had too many enemies for the Wii to handle. There never seem to be more than 5 or 6 on screen at any time.

Sure, you'd have to ease back on the graphics some (although RE4 still looks fantastic and the Wii is fair bit more powerful than the Cube so I'd love to see what they could do if they really pushed the hardware) and probably the sound but I'd take that to have the Wii controls.

and thus the distance between Capcom and myself grows larger. we do so little business nowadays, unlike last gen where I was very happy collecting classic RE goodness for the Cube.

Soon it will be like we were never even friends.

Rails. They don't fit into my game collection, unless it's a good star fox game.

I'll say a few kind words for you Capcom when I take a dump next, just before I flush - it'll be our own secret little memorial.

From what i've read/heard, Wii owners would be much more interested in RE4-2 or an RE2 remake, but that's all anecdotal

Why would Wii want RE5?

I'm pretty sure this would require the processing power of at least five or six duct-taped GameCubes.
