With Activision recently pushing back Singularity to 2010, Sterne Agee analyst Arvind Bhatia thinks the same fate will befall the highly anticipated StarCraft II. The game is currently slated for a release this October. However, the game's beta suffered a delay recently, which, according to Bhatia's comments to the Wall Street Journal, casts its Q4 2009 release target in doubt.
With Modern Warfare 2 on slate for later this year, Bhatia doesn't see the delay hurting Activision's coffers. In fact, it's suggested a 2010 release would actually help company profits during what is expected to be a relatively slow year.

It seems like we keep getting told it's going to be a slow year, than all the sudden it gets overwhelmingly full.

I actually am not bothered by this. The fall's scheduled releases are pretty robust, and a delay would give me more time to save up for, you know, a computer that runs it.

I have expected a delay too since its blizzard. But I was REALLY REALLY hoping to play this game this year. If it is delayed....For shame Blizzard, for shame...

as much as i love starcraft (and i really do) i love the god of war franchise more (small margin, but it beats it out by a tad)...
it would have to be delayed 2 weeks in purchasing...
i only get paid bi-weekly ;)

Think replay value. You'll have plenty of time to save up for GOW3 while endlessly playing Starcraft.
Oh and a big duh on the delay.

Isn't that like saying "Expect the sky to be blue"?
This IS Blizzard we're talking about, after all.

They can shove the delay along with their idea that LAN isn't necessary.

Can I be an analyst? Here's my first analysis:
Expect all Blizzard games to be delayed.
Here's my second:
Expect all Valve games to be delayed.
Can I have money now?

Even though everyone knows its inevitable, it still breaks my heart. I was even thinking about trying out WoW but then Blizzard said that pushed back Starcraft 2 a year. A delay would ruin the magic 2009 was promising me.
