That show was incredible live... as well as the after the show bit.
Look At This Suit @ Jul 10th 2009 4:37PM
I missed it live due to sleep, which was caused by a session of BF: 1943 that lasted until 5 AM. Way to break 2 hours, guys, I can't wait. Congrats on 100, and here's to 100 more.
Look At This Suit @ Jul 10th 2009 4:48PM
And Chris, you're talking about how this game seems like a ton of fun when you're all on a team together and communicating with your friends, it is. Me and my friends were DAMNED persistent trying to get into games together, and we eventually did. Once we were all together, it was probably one of the best multiplayer experiences I've had on the console, right up there with Halo and Call of Duty.
I'd like to tell you a story. My friend was being attacked by a tank, and I just so happened to be driving a jeep that I may or may not have strapped with C4. I drive towards said tank, bail out of my jeep, and hit the plunger. The Jeep blows, taking the tank with it.
Also, PARACHUTES.
The Dark Wayne @ Jul 10th 2009 4:51PM
nowhere near as good as BF2s parachutes : (
Look At This Suit @ Jul 10th 2009 4:55PM
But better than Bad Company's parachutes. Which didn't exist. Flying up to the highest point possible and then jumping out to act as kind of a battlefield commander is so much fun. Also, landing behind the unaware and swording them in the back of the skull.
Old Professor Zertoss @ Jul 10th 2009 5:27PM
I loved the BF1942 multiplayer demo back in the day. People jumping out of airplanes and deciding that THAT would be a good time to ask how to use the parachute.
They always got their answer AFTER hitting the ground. It was fantastic.
Sly @ Jul 10th 2009 6:27PM
your jeep tactic reminded me of warhawk. you could load up a jeep with proximity mines and drive it straight into the enemy base, and kill a ton of people. and SWORDS?! did i read that right?
Look At This Suit @ Jul 10th 2009 6:33PM
Yes sir, you did read that correctly. The Japanese Scout is equipped with a Katana as a melee weapon. The American Scout is equipped with an extremely long bayonet that he uses like a sword. The "Infantry" class for both factions uses a monkey wrench, and the Rifleman classes are both equipped with bayonets attached to their rifles.
The Dark Wayne @ Jul 10th 2009 6:47PM
i hope to test whether the wrench can magically explode walls like BFBC's power drill
Sly @ Jul 10th 2009 10:53PM
so is it anything like call of duty's knives, but with longer range? or do you have to run around with it out, unable to use your gun?
Josh @ Jul 11th 2009 6:07PM

I've been doing that all the time for years in BF2.
NowWithMoreBrian @ Jul 10th 2009 4:38PM
Ok, that's some bad photoshop filtering.
The Dark Wayne @ Jul 10th 2009 4:40PM
please do every show, or at least some more live, but not at 1030
Toastix @ Jul 10th 2009 4:41PM

Look At This Suit @ Jul 10th 2009 4:49PM
Or, you know, you have other things to do. Such as work. Or sleep. Or attending to household chores. Or sleep.
CFH GARZA @ Jul 10th 2009 5:49PM
Nope pretty sure you just suck if you missed it.
Sly @ Jul 10th 2009 6:28PM

ArchiGamer [thephilosophyofgames.wordpress.com] @ Jul 10th 2009 6:48PM

ArchiGamer [thephilosophyofgames.wordpress.com] @ Jul 10th 2009 4:47PM

j.howlett @ Jul 10th 2009 4:47PM

Thank you so much guys for making fun of Gawker's ridiculous new comment system (at least, I think you did)... :D
Saria the Cat @ Jul 10th 2009 5:43PM
:( :( :(
I'm so sad I missed this live!
Old Professor Zertoss @ Jul 10th 2009 5:55PM
You were a brief topic of discussion too.
Sly @ Jul 10th 2009 6:29PM
seriously? that would be a bit creepy, no?
The Dark Wayne @ Jul 10th 2009 6:31PM
that's the point isnt it?
ArchiGamer [thephilosophyofgames.wordpress.com] @ Jul 10th 2009 6:46PM
?
Saria the Cat @ Jul 10th 2009 6:53PM
I'm just as confused as you are, Archi.
Old Professor Zertoss @ Jul 10th 2009 7:08PM
It was something to do with the fitness ads. We basically concluded that Joystiq women are buff, and Saria the Cat will fuck you up.
ArchiGamer [thephilosophyofgames.wordpress.com] @ Jul 10th 2009 7:10PM
So, Saria the Tiger then?
LAZoftheTamarinds @ Jul 10th 2009 6:15PM
Bummed that I missed it live but at least I get to listen to it now.
Thanks for another awesome episode.
Takamofo @ Jul 10th 2009 6:49PM
DSG!
Donald @ Jul 10th 2009 7:33PM
Kudos on finally knocking off 100 episodes.
Although tecnically, this is episode 125 including roundtables, GDC/E3/CES specials, the last 3 episodes, and that one episode of the Ludwig Kietzmann Show Starring Ludwig Kietzmann.
JMoney156 @ Jul 10th 2009 7:47PM
Sorry for derailing the podcast at 10:18 in! Great live show guys!!

Nesta @ Jul 10th 2009 8:49PM

But whatever happened to episode 0?
Ficken @ Jul 10th 2009 10:16PM
Congrats guys! Was there to DO IT LIVE! But what happened to Episode 0. I want it!
Zamzoph @ Jul 11th 2009 12:23AM
Kinda funny that I missed the show because I was to busy playing vidjeo games...
We need more live shows, though! DO IT LIVE!
Travmanman @ Jul 11th 2009 2:11AM
The Joystiq guys do it again. You never disappoint. Thanks for Doing it Live and bringing the show to the people. We Love and Appreciate all you do for us.
Scottastic @ Jul 12th 2009 2:43AM
Awesome show, as always. A shame that it was live on the first day in 2 months I worked before 12:45. Glad you liked the new liner, though.
Courtney @ Jul 13th 2009 7:02PM
Ah, my Stump JC question didn't make it in. Perhaps JC's infinite knowledge does not cross over into early 90s DOS games.
Crimson Major @ Jul 15th 2009 7:40AM
Loving the live idea, but do it earlier, for your listeners in the UK :P
player66 @ Jul 15th 2009 2:25PM
Great episode. I'm loving the video podcast. Moar video podcast, please.
