It's a scientific fact that 100 percent of people on Earth love Scribblenauts -- trust us, an actual scientist said that -- unfortunately, not everyone owns a Nintendo DS. Sure, almost everyone owns a DS, but that still leaves a small sliver of humanity who will be unable to experience 5th Cell's wordy puzzler whenever it hits store shelves this September.
Fortunately for this minuscule contingency, there's a chance Scribblenauts could be released on other platforms. In a recent interview with VG247, the game's technical director, Marius Fahlbusch, explained, "We never limited ourselves to the DS as platform in our heads and we'll see what the future holds." Personally, we think it would be a hit on any platform, whether that platform be Xbox 360, PS3 or coloring book.

I am one of those proud people.I myself promise in 1992 that I would never own anything that had to do with Nintendo unfortunately DS is Nintendo so I won't go near it but it doesn't mean I hate video games.

Wow...
Hey, wait! 1992? That's the SNES era! You're still sore about Sega losing to Nintendo even after 17 years?

allow me to add this retroactively:
I guess the same could be said about people who like games but dont have a PSP or PS3 or a Wii (except that makes sense cause the Wii has no gamez amirite?) or whatever.
But still, the game selection for the DS is soooooooooooo good. Granted, a lot of them are RPGs, but still.

LOL, you can't have done anything in 1992 because it's obvious from that retarded post that you're 12.
"Proud people" hahahahahahaha. Hey guess what kid, you're wrong, you -loathe- videogames. You're not a gamer. You're the antithesis of fun.

My thing about the DS is that while it has a huge and great library, the library of games I actually want to play is really small. It's a great system, but when I'm placed the stylus (wrist cramps at best) it's just painful, and the few non-stylus games just don't click that much with me.
I look at it like the 360; I can totally understand why people love and appreciate it, and it's not a bad platform, it's just that there's nothing that draws me to it personally.
I think it's more like a movie-buyer that doesn't like 3D movies. It's not that the technology is bad, or that they're not good movies, it's just that none of them particularly appeal to the person.

That sounds like those old people who "feel dizzy" from looking at a PC screen. "You must have square eyes by now, boy. Go play outside".
Point being, I haven't heard complaints like that since the DS first launched. If you're not willing to overcome that small hurdle of getting used to stylus controls to play some of the best games on any system, then Idunno what's up with you.

The game sounds like a perfect fit on the DS, so I will definitely be picking it up when it comes out.
Though it's good to hear it is coming out on other platforms. The more people who play it, the better I suppose.

Guys, seriously...enough with the Scribblenauts stuff already!
I'm interested in the game and plan on getting it, but there must be other good DS games in the works to focus on. These 3-4 Scribblenauts updates a week are getting really old fast.
It's like when IGN was pimping the hell out of Moon for months on end..

Not sure the cause for the skepticism about the game. I for one am super-psyched about the game. Almost worth re-purchasing a Nintendo DS for! Well, this and Dragon Quest IX. :)

Hey guys I'm a scribblenauts dictionary definer and I was listening to your conversation here and I am glad that all of you are excited about this game! I infact have some goood updates for you...
1.) Scribblenauts is strictly on the ds, and you can only use words that are not validated or copywrited, the things you create act the same as they would in real life, and it is all stylus based!
2.) As we are booking the dictionaries, thesaurases, encycolapedias, and more. We find this a very hard task to do, so thoughs who are want this game out right now must understand how hard it is to make such a game like this. Plus %th cell production is planning to later on release it on other platforms!
3.) Their will be multi-player and level creator, to share with your friends, in your level you can summon different kinds of emotions, like you can make a dinosaur afraid of a carrot in your level. Then you can let your friend do this level or you could do his... Infact you can do it together! By combining some object together you can makedifferent things happen... like when a villian see's the moon he will turn into a werewolf!
That's all for now but I can keep all of updated as much as possible all you have to do is e-mail me at Alex4d@live.ca or visit www.scribblenauts.com to ask a question!

I can understand why people can be annoyed by all of the hype, since there's a lot of it. There's also no story and "childish graphics" (stfu realism =/= fun). I haven't heard any epic music coming out the trailers, either. It just sounds like such a fun concept that I don't care about these other factors.
Now that they've got it down on the DS, they can do a story and make it prettier and compose a John Williams-esque soundtrack.

I think it's funny I got downvoted all to hell for even suggesting this game could be on another system. But now all of a sudden, everyone thinks it's a great idea. Oh Joystiq readers, you are a fickle mistress.

Can you say soon to be most popular game on the DS? Thought my gut is telling me it's going to be a sleeper hit and won't sell as well as this bad ass game should.
Thanks Griff

So......they want to make lots and lots of money?
Good on them. I read in Nintendo Power that the idea for the game came to the project lead in a dream. We need more people who are willing to throw out ideas they find in dreams into the creative process. Games should be fun, after all, and not just about killing stuff.
(Not that killing stuff isn't fun, but it's not fun in that "childlike wonder" way that is truly fun.)

buh, buh, but you said no on the podcast chat, so did you change your mind about it coming to the iPod/iPhone?

I hope they whore this game out to every platform. I really want to play it, but do not want to buy a DS.

I'll stick with DS, thank you; you guys know you can write stuff, right, not just typing? I don't want to have to buy a USB keyboard to play this on a console, or not being able to play it on the go as easy as with handheld systems.
Being the DS fanboy I am, I would love to see it as DS exclusive, but a PSP or iPhone version would be great as well.

You do realize that USB keyboards are like $5, and there have been controller based keyboards since the dawn of time, right?

Oh absolutely, but honestly, how many people prefer USB keyboard input for consoles or controller-based keyboards over simply typing or writing letters on a screen? Both work well enough, but I personally prefer stylus input.

Ship the game to DS first please, then worry about ports. For all we know this could be GTA chinatown wars the second-incredibly hyped and loved by critics, poor seller. Whenever companies start talking about their future plans for a franchise that hasn't even shipped yet, I start to worry.
