Capcom has squashed the dreams of those hopeful its newest cross-over fighter, Tatsunoko vs. Capcom, will come to PS3 and/or Xbox 360. Speaking to VideoGamer.com, the game's producer, Ryota Niitsuma, stated that the effort required to port the heavily Wii-optimized title would be considerable. "If we were to port it to PS3 or Xbox 360 we would have to make the game from scratch, and in that case we might as well just make a sequel of the series on those consoles rather than porting it," he told the site.
Not confirmation of a sequel, but a promising comment nonetheless. Niitsuma said that "we would like to see the reaction of the western market when we release the game on Wii," with regard to bringing the series to other platforms. Since Niitsuma wouldn't say it himself, we'll go ahead and do it for him: "Buy the first one if you want to see a sequel." See, that wasn't so hard.

"This Is For Emphasis, Bitch!
This is about a common phrase format, where an otherwise complete sentence has a "bitch" thrown on the end, just to emphasize the rest of the sentence, bitch! "
Which is nice, I'm just saying, that since that game came out on the dreamcast
9 years ago, it would be nice to have a new game. Online play is greatness, but everyone has already mastered Sentential, Storm, Magneto, and Cable by now.
Now Marvel vs Capcom 3, that would be a real ride.... To be taken for.... Bitches...

My fighting game spirit is shooting goo all over the place this year. I think I'm going to end up with all of them by the December.

"sales could spur sequel"
nooo, really?
but seriously, if this game doesnt come to 360 i wont lose any sleep. ive got enough problems tryin to keep track of fighting games with characters ive heard of before.

This game is never going to sell enough to warrant a sequel. It didn't sell that well in Japan and Japan actually looks at the whole cast with a feeling of nostalgia instead of just half of it.

I dunno, I kinda figured the words "Capcom" and "Vs." would warrant enough to print money. Especially when put together.

I'd buy anything that says Capcom, to be honest. The Vs is just a perk.

I agree. I don't expect the sales to be what everyone wants them to be. This doesn't have the instant nostalgia appeal of SFIV and even THAT one just suddenly stopped on sales.
Thing is, keep sales expectations low for a fighting game and you'll be happy. Soul Calibur , SSBB, and SF IV sales are not the norm. Virtua Fighter 5 and BlazBlue are.

man, someone should just write an emulator and run wii games on the ps3/360.. have to build the game from the ground up??? the wii is barely stronger performance-wise than xbox1! i'm sure the ps3/360 can run a very unoptimized version of the wii version.

I think the difficult part would be building a wireless motion and tilt sensitive controller, in addition to a detection device for aforementioned controller.

Because everyone knew the arcade was motion detecting, right? Sure, makes sense. Eat your spinach before a round and finish your opponent by throwing the machine across the arcade. Be careful not to squash the chainsmokers.

The ps3 can't even emulate ps2 games, there's no way that it'll emulate wii games.

Makes sense. The arcade board for this one was designed around Wii architecture, so the game is going to favor Wii. Doesn't mean they couldn't do it if they wanted to put in the investment, but this game doesn't really have the sales potential to merit it, unless they condensed it a bit and re-released it for XBLA/PSN

How many of the folks who want this game ported to the HD twins also scoffed at the idea of putting SF4 on the Wii?

I don't think it's going to do very well UNLESS they also release it for 360/ PS3. Just sayin...

Damned if they do, damned if they don't, then.
That is, if they're correct about a "port" to the PS3/360 needing to be built from scratch; building a game from scratch requires a good deal of time, money, effort, and money.
Besides, why bother? Most of us have the Wii and at least one of the other two consoles, don't we? I really don't think that they could triple their sales by releasing the game on on the PS3 and 360, and they'd certainly have to do at least that well to make it worth it.

Well, okay, then. Do the sequel. Put Tron Boone and Elena in there while you at it.

If I couldn't see Speed in the first one, then, I'll buy it, so I can bug Takara Tomy and Capcom (along with other copyright holders involved with Speed Racer), to put him in the 2nd one.

Capcom and G-Force totally kick-@ss, but the Wii totally sucks balls....no thanks, won't buy unless it comes out in HD for PS3.

wait wait wait...something doesn't make sense.
capcom wants to see how the western market- the wii market- does in order to bring it to the 360/ps3? WTF?
Sounds like flawed logic, because these are two different sets of consumers. i dont want wii consumers gettign to control the fate of 360/ps3 games- it doent make sense.
maybe they need to do some studies or something, because thats certainly 'off''

After playing the game at my local arcade, I probably will be buying it. Most fun I've had with a fighting game in a long time.

sorry if its on the Wii ..,. not for me. I prolly would have gotten a copy each if they were on the PS3 and XBOX 360.., Wii optimized or no, I dont want that game on the Wii even though I own one. Maybe I'll get lucky and see a sequel.., this is almost as disappointing as the way theyve gone about the monster hunter not being on a home console. AT LEAST BRING BACK THE PS2 network for monster hunter dammit.., emulate it for the ps3 or something if need be. sheesh.
