Uncharted 2 footage introduces Spider-Drake

We saw ol' Nate Drake do some pretty uncanny acrobatic feats in Uncharted the First, but a recent gameplay video from the sequel (posted after the jump) has led us to an unexpected realization -- dude's got super powers. In this video alone, Drake exhibits the following abilities: Wall crawling, super jumping, kung-fu grip, cold resistance and, of course, super charm.

By the looks of the stunning environments featured in this clip, we're beginning to think that the game's graphic designers are also imbued with superhuman properties. We're not sure where these artsy powers came from, but we imagine a freak Cintiq accident was involved.

Do people honestly think KZ2 and Uncharted have the best graphics on the PS3? You guys must have not played MGS4...thats, the best looking game i played on a console thus far.

I'd actually suggest renting the first one. It's great, but I haven't touched it since finishing it.

Hence, multiplayer in Uncharted 2.

I've only played a little bit of MSG4 so far. It's pretty but from my experience, it doesn't have the atmospheric awesomeness of KZ2.

MGS4 has better character models and animations. it shows in the facial animations especially. but everything else looks better in killzone 2.

Coming from a BIIIGGG MGS fanboy, MGS4's graphics aren't that good compared to Uncharted. The character models were nice, and at a distance everything looks amazing. But as soon as you get up close to something you can see how they really didn't care about the textures.

I love MGS4. I'm like the only member of PSU forums who stayed in the MGS forums ever since it started. But if you think MGS has the best graphics on a console so far, idk. You can think that - but I don't think so lol.

still looks same as the first one in gameplay terms. I think the bigger your tv the better this game will be, its presentation is grand.

Speaking from the MP beta, they have changed the gameplay quite a bit, better cqc moves, better aiming mechanic, better climbing, jumping etc.

Whatta ya mean, Mystile? Ive had friends playing 1 v 100 before while I have been playing it, and they never seem to be amongst the 4 people I get 'matched' up with.

Which is another thing I've wondered about, if the other 3 people it shows you with are seeing the same people as well?

You can party up within it before you enter the actual game. It gives you the option to invite friends.
I'm taking it that no one was interested though, seeing the massive downvote.

The cutscene they showed in GTTV was so good looking. I sat absorbing it for a good few minutes before I realised that it looked as good as a Pixar movie, running (I'm pretty sure) in real-time on a console.

It is amazing isn't it? It looks so much better than the first one and that was one of the best looking games ever. So much more detail to the eyes is what I noticed most - the way they animate and emote is just incredible.

Still a fan of the new TR, by the way. I thought Underworld was really well done - it just needs better gunplay. I would love a crossover - as nerdtastic as that sounds. Drake and Lara's personalities playing off each other would be classic, plus w/Elena and Sully in the mix would make it even better.

I simply cannot wait for this game

the game itself is rated "T"....... i think...... and any video showing the game must have the proper lableing to avoid lawsiuts...... its like in ps Home if enter a gmae space it lists all the warnings and esrb rating before u enter

Yeah this is probably gonna be goty 2009. The more I see the more the more I'm convinced. Naughty Dog's come a long way from their Crash Bandicoot days.

Crash Bandicoot 3 is my GotDecade for the 90's.

what could compete with it? There's been a lot of good stuff this year, but not a lot of outstanding stuff. Modern Warfare 2 certainly, BioShock 2 possibly (the buzz around that seems to have died), and nothing else really has the requisite hype. Scribblenauts certainly does, but this sort of thing rarely becomes seriously considered later on.

Scribblenauts could win people over in a Portal sort of way. Modern Warfare 2, although Infinity Ward are a fantastic developer, is more a 'jock' GotY. I'm personally holding out a lot of hope for Mafia 2, because I'm a massive fan of the original and it's the same developer, unlike BioShock 2 (which appears to just retread a lot of old ground).

And you never know, Valve might get their shit together and package HL2:Ep 3 in with L4D2 and Portal 2 before the end of the year.

modern warfare 2 seems like the only true competitor to it for GOTY.

Even though my ps3 is dead, im still buying this game and im going to just look at the box.

Eventually shivering and singing "this old man" growing ever more mentally unstable. I'll start thinking i am drake and set off to find treasure, I be-friend a girl named elaina, who is actually a broom, she gets into alot of trouble, we fall in love.
I then travel across the land shooting bad guys. At the end of the game, when i find the treasure, I get shot by the NYPD for killing over 70 innocent people and robbing Tiffany & Co.

I get kinda sad when I watch this... Let me explain.

I was a big Tomb Raider fan, and now I've played Naughty Dog's beta. Everything that Naughty Dog is doing right should be what Tomb Raider Underworld should have done (melee combat, online multiplayer might've been nice, the tense gameplay and great storyline that was missing in Underworld).

It's a little bittersweet to watch the changing of the guard, so to speak.

Personally I think TR should stop already

Whoa why the heck do people diss Sonic for still being around. The other day I was in the car with my 6 year old niece who was playing a Sonic game on the DS, she turned to me and said Sonic is her favorite character, smiled and went back to playing the same gameplay and game that I loved at her age.

Now ofcourse as older gamers we think current games featuring Sonic may not be up to par as they were before but that's also because times have changed. it's for newer generations to enjoy that crazy blue hedgehog just as much as we did as children or young teens.

Its because Lara lacks personality and TR games in general have just become boring and monotonous, its the same thing over and over again, yahtzee was right, you shoot spiders in the jungle, then you go to a town level and shoot the exact same spiders all over again (spiders used as an example), you do a couple of flips here and there, shoot stuff in slo motion and after a few minutes you're bored stiff, especially when you cant think of what possible crate is needed to open the next frigging door.

The only thing TR had going for it was Lara's chest size.
